I used to play this game in the arcade, but now cannot remember the name of it.

You start off as this little robot guy (side scroller game) and you collect power ups (very similar power ups to gradius) and you power up exactly the same way as gradius (press a select button when you've collected enough little power ups for the weapon you want).

I know this is not a great description (I think it came out somewhere between 1989 and 1990), but any help (and pictures if you know of any) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Nope, that's not it. It was a left to right scroller with this little robot guy that walked along the ground. You could jump with him and fire. One of the weapons he had was these little rockets that, when fired, would shoot along the ground until they hit something (just like in gradius).

No, that's not it either. I do remember playing that one though. Very hard if I remember correctly. Argh! This is very frustrating I've been searching through each game at www.klov.com I'm up to C so far, but no luck yet.

Target Earth? Assault Suit Leynos?

The game also came out as Target Earth on Genesis and Cybernator on the SNES. It started out with a crash landing on a planet. One of the weapons is a missile which rides along the terrain (like Gradius).

Were the weapons selectable like in Gradius? Something like you had to pick up power ups, that didn't actually do anything until you selected the weapon of choice. I found it here http://www.cyberdrive.net/~gskalba/r...argetEarth.htm but I don't think that's it. It doesn't have the selectable menu across the bottom.
