Controls for Super Smash Bro.s Melee

Ok, I don't own a Gamecube but I just came home for break and I have been playing my friends this game one their cubes. I'm getting my *** beat bad and I forgot the controls for the one on N64. So, someone please explain how to do all the smash attacks, etc. so I may beat them unmercifully!

Just to make it clear. I am playing the new Super Smash Bro.s on the Gamecube. I mentioned the one on N64 because I figure some of the controls are still the same, but I even forgot those. I do know the Gamecube controller pretty well so you can just say what buttons do what, and I'll know where they are.

Pressing B while not moving does a special attack. Pressing B while moving (dashing) does another special attack. Pressing the control stick Right/left and pressing A does a smash attack, while just pressing A while standing still punches/kicks. You can press up on the stick once to jump up, then while you're in the air, you an either press up again to jump higher and then B to get even higher and do a special attack, or jsut press B in mid-air and do a special mid-air attack. If you do a special attack in mid-air while you're falling off the edge of the board, you can recover yourself, since doing a special attack in mid-air gives you more air time. Pressing down on hte control stick and pressing B does another special attack. Pressing either of the shoulder buttons uses your shield, which lasts for a few seconds. Pressing Z while holding an item make syou throw that item in the direction the stick is being pressed, or if you're not pressing the control stick, he just throws it over his shoulder. Presing Z without an item in your hand while moving uses a grab attack. Hope this helps!!
