How come yours doesn't have the stamped sig of Bill Gates on the center?
It does. It's in the second picture. Unfortunately my pictures aren't as clear as the ones on Ebay.

Another one appeared, this one is for the XBox itself with no games. Started at $500 and currently at $760.76, reserve not met.

I can beat that! I've played on both a green X-Box and a clear one. All of the consoles at X-Box Team's game and hardware usability testing facility are clear. Wonder how much that one would get on eBay.

I've also played on an X-Box PC, which were used for testing games before the console was ready. It's a sweet case, looked like a Lian Li aluminium case with the glowing green X on the front.

Actually guys, I believe that these xboxes were available only to the Xbox team. I do not know if they were sold at a discount price, I do not think they were though. I work for MS and I would have been all over it had I had the chance. It wasn't something that was available to everyone internally.

The silver towers were the orignal dev kits, standard PC's for the most part, they even had Geforce2s in them for most of their life, until the prototype GPU's were available.

The clear ones are the full development kits. They will not play retail titles.

The regular green debug kits are trimmed down versions of their clear big brothers, but again, will not play retail disks.

The green special edition boxes are the exact same hardware internally as the black retail boxes, but a special gift to the Xbox team members, both hardware and software, and as Maynerd said, not available to MS at large.

Were these given to the team for free or was it made available to them for a fixed price?

I'm pissed I didn't nab that one for $500 w/5 games just before xmas!!! I mainly want one for collector value, but there is a limit to how much I will pay.

They weren't free. The bundle was about $450 shipped.

Green Xbox, 2 Green controllers, all 6 first party launch titles.

As tempting as it is, I'm won't be selling mine. I'm too proud of it.
