I haven't seen any yet. I called a few places, one of them told me tomorrow and most others said the 14th. I know the date was originally today.

Hmmm...this is kind of a milestone...my 100th post on here. Yes I know, others have thousands of posts.

I'm going to check my Best Buy today, going to pick one up for my cousins' christmas gift.

Cyberock, it's quality over quantity, I always say.

Are you saying my posts are not quality posts?

Anf ro the release date, I've heard it has been pushed back until the 14th. I guess I have to wait 3 more days.

Bumped to remind folks this comes out today...

And no I wasn't saying your posts are not quality posts. I've only seen the ones you made in this thread. You were saying 100 wasn't much, compared to some who have thousands of posts. Most people with thousands of posts are otters who carry on personal conversations and such.

I should of put a smiling face after that comment. I wasn't offened so no reason to explain. Just was trying to be funny.

I called the stores in my area for the game too and no one seems to have it. Anyone else have luck finding it? I'm assuming the delay of the game is because it's just that much more killer over the PS2 version.

I'm being told by stores that the release date has been pushed back to the Dec. 18th. The way things are going, is this game going to come out this year?????

No luck in downtown NYC. I tried 4 different places including J&R. One store has been telling me tomorrow everyday this week(yeah right!). Another store said December 19th.

They may be having production problems.

Thanks for the heads up. I just called my not so local EB and they have it as well.

I'll have to take a long drive for it. But as the saying goes....

Try calling your local stores again.
This thing was pushed back to 12/14 from originally being scheduled to street on 12/11.

My local Software Etc.(Gamestop) got them in yesterday as well. For some reason they kept them under the counter. They didn't have a display box or have them in the locked cabinet behind the counter. I had to ask and the associate seemed reluctant to say yes. I'm thinking they had a short supply and held them for reserves. I'd say the best bet is to ask associates and to hold one for you if you call.

Picked up Max for the Xbox yesterday. All I can say is simply it rocks. If you have 5.1 sound you will run around in this game just shooting the shotguns. The bass kick from the shotgun plus the sound of shell casings hitting the floor is just amazing. Gameplay is super smooth and the load times are less then the PC. I played the game through on my pc a p4 with a gforce 3 and plenty of ram and I can't wait to finish it again on the box. If you have spent anytime playing Halo you can jump right into Max. The only thing tricky is weapon changing is on the directional pad so going grenade to weapon can be tricky. This can be changed so it's not an issue. The only thing I found a little tricky is you can change the gamma on the game so the dark parts are extra dark it just makes them harder or in a pinch you can use a molotov as a torch.

It plays smooth as silk. It feels so natural you'll wonder why other 3rd person shooters and adventure games don't play this way. Reminded me a bit like Syphon Filter but more tighter and intuitive. The bullet time is a godsend seeing as how Max doesn't have the pleasures of force fields, bullet proof vests, and armor. I originally written off "bullet time" as a useless gimmick until i fought guys with shotguns and quickly learned my lesson the hard way.

There are a couple of minor gripes. One is that with bullet time if shuts off when you are coming off a shootdodge. I found that a little aggravating. Another stems from the Xbox controller layout. with the buttons so close I gound myself wasting painkillers when I wanted to turn bullet time on. Another minor gripe is the dream level which was really depressing and featured too much platforming gameplay which was a bit out of place.

However, minor gripes they still are. I didn't play the PC version but all reviews say it's equal in graphic quality. The only omission is the level editor.

I would just like to say this game rocks. I played it the whole weekend. It reminds me a lot of Duke Nukem. Oh well one day Forever will make it out.

I would just like to know one thing, "should I get the PC version (yes I have a kickin PC) or the xbox version?"

If you have 5.1 sound get the Xbox version. Without a date you sub will thank you with every shotgun blast. If not it's a toss up between xbox and pc.

and when you get to that address, go down the alley to the back of the building. Bang on the heavy steel door and when the guy ask who's there, say "Max Payne." He'll ask you to slip the $50 through the slot on the door and then out will slide your game. Remember, cash only and no questons!
