Devil May Cry is one COOL game.

I just picked this game up yesterday for my PS2 and it is probably the coolest game I have ever played. The graphics are some of the best that I have seen. This game is about kicking @$$ -- plain and simple. There is nothing like taking your sword and uppercutting a demon about 15 feet in the air, then blasting him to bits with your two pistols. If you don't have this game, go out and get it.

I bought this game, and it's the best Capcom has put forward, but I'm pretty sick of the whole Resident Evil/Dino Crisis/Onimusha/Devil May Cry dynamic. There's really not very much there, when compared to games like MGS 2, GTA3, or even SSX Tricky. I think DMC is the last Capcom game I'll be buying.

I liked it, but like ScandalUMD it ran it's course very quickly. Nice effort from Capcom, but in the end I felt like it had much more potential than the 10 or so hours of gaming it provided IMO.

A friend of mine asked for this for X-mas and I told him to take it off his list and I'd let him borrow it since it takes no time at all to beat. He was surprised when I told him how fast it can be beat.

It is a very slick game there's no question about it but since the beat it, the day after a I got it, I've barely picked it up. Replay on it is weak but that first time thru was intense.

Uh, are we playing the same game? I found it insanely tough and just about gave up on it in favor of GTA3, MGS2 and THPS3. I'll get back to it eventually, but I can't imagine beating it that fast unless you played it on easy, which would be a total waste. It is a beautiful game, wonderfully animated, great control and lots of ambiance, but it was just too tough for an amateur like me.

I totally agree. I played on normal thinking that it would just be "somewhat" difficult, but nope it's crazy. Now I've figured out some of the different sword techniques (who would've thought that by pausing at certain times on your sword attacks, you could get different combos) it's making it fun again. I've lent it to a friend now though so I can actually get some work done when I'm at home

I feel the same way. It took me about 5 days to beat it. However, I played it virtually non-stop for about 3 days straight. I definitely would say it's pretty tough. Super cool game though...great graphics, sound, and gameplay.

The first time I tried it, the
Spoiler:
spider boss
totally demolished me. Repeatedly. But once I figured the pattern, and
Spoiler:
got the Stinger upgrade
, he became a piece of cake. It's REALLY challenging at first, but if you stick with it, it'll become manageable. There are some cooooool bosses in that game. Haven't beaten it yet, but someday.

Fire bad!
