Turning off PS2 Parental Control?
OK... I must have setup my PS2 to only view G movies.
When I go to setup and custom options, it asks for my password and I enter it correctly... I change the level to either "off" or 8 and go back to the controls menu. I check it and it stays on 8 or off, but when I reset the unit is is back to 1...
How do I make the change perminent?
Thanks

Sorry guys, but we can't help you. Your parents set it at "G" only for a reason. Maybe if you're good this year, they'll up it to "PG" on Christmas Day!

I think the key is to have a memeory card for it to stay that way. The manual talks about this. There is also a code which I think is set to 7777 for the default.

Hmm ... never using the DVD player before, but I just looked at the manual and tried a few things to see if I could help.
Are you entering in the password when you put the "questionable" DVD in? If so, and you enter the password to watch the movie, I think it only allows you to watch it that once.
However, if you put something you can watch, I dunno, say Shrek, then pause and go to the Set up menu (select) and change the parentl code to "off" there. If you don't know the password (or didn't set it) it's 0000. if you did, but forgot the password it's 7444.
Lemme know if this helps.

The funny thing about my PS2 is if I put in an R-rated movie it won't play without entering my password, but if I put a porn in, it starts right up!

I enter the password and set the code to "off" but it doesn't seem to stick.
When I reset the system, it goes back to 1 or G...
It is kind of funny that someone mentioned Shek! My 3 year old loves it and that movie is the reason we need the code reset. Everytime he wants to watch it, we have to enter the password... Because he want to watch it 7 times a day, I would like to turn the password off!!!
Thanks...
BTW, I tried 7444... and that didn't work...

OK... Found the answer buried in the manual... After you make the change, you must EJECT the disc before turning off the system...
If you just turn off the system, the settins will not hold.
Sure. Why didn't I think of that?
What friggin' idiot at Sony thought of that????
