The game rented must be the format of the new game system on the receipt. "

Is this confirmed?? I read at the Xbox forum sites that Blockbuster employees don't know about the free rental promotion, so they didn't honor it.

The key phrase is "any new game console purchased during the promotional period." So if you bought your system before December 1 (like I did), you're out of luck.

That is wierd the article is dated 11/15/01. I may give it a shot anyway, the only thing they can do is say no.

Actually, that is what it says, but when I brought my gamecube receipt dated the 18th of november, they still gave me the free rental. Either the manager was clueless, or she didn't care.
