I bought a PS2 back in October '00 and I haven't really played it since then. It's just sitting here collecting dust and I have bills to pay. Anyway, I was thinking about taking it to my local department store (Ames, Walmart, Kmart, etc.) as an after Christmas return. I have 2 questions really and they are:

1) Has the PS2 box been updated since it made its debut way back in 2000? If so, do you you think the overworked employees will notice?

2) I know that I'll probably get store credit instead of cash for the return but can I, for example, use the 299.99 credit to buy a pack of gum for .25 and get 299.74 back in cash. If I can, I'll probably return the gum to get my .25 back. Yeah, I know I'm a cheapskate.

Oh yeah, one more question. This is my first post and I'm all shy and nervous and I was just wondering; do you love me?

BTW, the PS2 box I have has colored pictures of Gran Turismo 2000, NFL GameDay 2001, NCAA Final Four 2001, Cool Boarders 2001, ATV Offroad Fury, FantaVision, Big SSX, Smuggler's Run, and Summoner. As you can see, some of the names of the games have been changed so I'm guessing they've updated the box. Does anyone know when though? Maybe I can pass it off as an EARLY Christmas present.

List it on ebay as hardly used.....you will probably be able to get around $225 to $250 without any problem.


I would not take it back to a store with the different box being used currently....I would guess this other box came out around the same time as Grand Turismo which was released in the summer time.

The PS2 has been updated since it came out. The reason I know this is because I bought a dvd remote for mine and it said if you have a certain model number, you'll need a memory card to store the information from the cd that came with the remote. Returned that remote and bought a different one.
