Question for TENNIS2K2 on DC players
When playing the game on one player mode, do u play in the really close up mode or the not as close up mode ?
i love the close up mode ! it is so realisitically feeling
the only downside is when you play two player you aren't as used to the other mode

I play from the "Far-Away Mode" because it gives me a view of the whole court. I like to see everything, and even though with the close-up camera you're more "involved" in the game, you can get easily fooled if the ball goes side to side. I'm like this though in racing games as well...I hate the "cockpit" cameras, and always opt for the overhead cameras...So maybe my opinion is biased, but it's still my 2 cents

as for hitting the ball harder, this is why i love Tennis2k2, you hit the ball harder when you get into position earlier and can really set up for a big hit, exactly like in real tennis!

In the old version I would play in the close up mode when I was playing on top of the screen because I sucked at playing on top, but that's the only reason I played at top.

Close up because I find I can time the ball a lot better (hit with more power). Not entirely sure why, but I think the control mechanics work better in that view, that is the way you instinctively move the stick in response to visual cues. And of course it's much more realistic!
If I'm partnering with a comp player though I often will switch back to the overhead view because I need to know what my idiot partner is doing
.
btw anyone finding 2k2 a lot tougher to master than the old Virtua Tennis? I know I jumped in expecting to do ok but was getting wiped by the computer on 'normal'. Now I'm better though
