Xbox - Dissected

Here is an article that goes deep into the guts of the Xbox. Overclocking is discussed but, it does not look too promising. Included are some cool pics for those to scared to open up their case. Here is a cool one.

Notice on the right of that pic above that the power supply is exposed. Make sure you unplug your case if you decide to open it.

is that a fan? I thought I read somewhere in the anandtech article that it had no moving parts, except for the dvd drive, which is a standard computer DVD drive

What's up with Microsoft using a Mobile Celeron? I thought they said they were going to use a Pentium 3.

It's a Pentium 3 with less cache. The anandtech article talks about it in more detail...

Celerons were P2s with less cache while this is a P3 with less cache. Not a Celeron, but the same idea.
