Is there such a thing available and has anyone had any experience with them? and if buying a 2nd controller would you go 3rd party or stick with the original MS controller??

I bought an Xbox controller made by Pelican. It was $25. It works fine except for the fact that it rumbles so much it causes the game to pause sometimes. Other times the Xbox thinks the controller has been disconnected, so the game pauses again. Luckily, there's a switch on the controller to turn off the rumble feature. If you can live with the occassional pause or live without the rumble feature, save yourself $15 and buy this one. There's also another brand out there--Interact--that sells for $25. Haven't tried it though.

joe schmoe,
I would definitely return that controller. It seems to be defective. If it's not, then it was poorly designed. The only reason I could see it being a worthy controller is the ergonomics. That is, if it feels the better than any of the other controllers on the market then I would keep it.

I usually stick to 1st party peripherals ever since the 3rd party controllers/memory cards that I've bought in the past basically crapped out on me after just a couple months. Money down the drain. IMO, you should save yourself the time, the money, and the stress and stick to 1st party.
