X-Box sightings

On tonights episode of Will and Grace - there was an X-Box on the set. That's pretty quick considering it came out today.

I'm sure that was a planed product placement. MS has the money plus development and test Xboxes (which look almost exactly like production models) have been out for months.

Good point - I must be retarded cuz it didn't even dawn on me that it was a marketing thing. You're totally right though - bet that's what it was.

That's an intersting promotional venue, who watching Rosie would even want an XBox?

Hmmmmm, lets see.......perhaps, the millions of stay-at-home parents that are deciding what to get for their adolecent/teenage children and/or spouse.

Did your mother ever go out and buy you a game system without you begging and pleading for it? Maybe parents are more proactive today, but I doubt it.

Of course not, but some parents need to be sold on the products as well, and like Oprah, Rosie does a good job hocking the wares of her guests to her viewers.

Get it? Or do you still think Microsoft need a lesson in Marketing 101?

Yes, thank you, I really didn't understand that concept in the first place. I just don't believe that it's the most efficient use of marketing dollars, but obviously with $500 million to blow they'll be doing a lot of this.

I'd be curious to know if they ran xbox commercials during the Rosie breaks.

Hmmmm... MS... NBC... MS, NBC... that sounds familar.

The GF said the green start up screen was in the background through a whole scene and they mentioned that it was an XBox as well. It wasnt just sitting there in the background they actually worked a XBox reference into a joke.

Yeah - I wrote that before they said Xbox in the episode... I typed it up during the show. I wasn't really watching, I was online and turning around every once in awhile to see what was going on on TV and too lazy to change the channel. I heard the kid say "hey can I come over sometime and play with your xbox?" and she's like "sure hon..." and then he leaves and she looks at the thing and goes "oh hey - this game is called an Xbox too ha ha" (audience laughs). Anyway - stupid me didn't put 2 and 2 together and realize MS/NBC/Xbox/Advertising. I thought Will and Grace were real people and it was like watching Big Brother or something but they didn't know the cameras were there... ok nevermind - j/k
