I'm looking for a component-to-VGA adapters?
I'm looking for a decent transcoder(not sure if that's what they're called) to hook up a videogame system to my PC's monitor.
I would like to take advantage of XBOX's widescreen, progressive scan output capabilities when playing games. I'm already aware XBOX doesn't output DVD movie data in progressive scan, but that's not my intention. I want my games to look as sharp as can be and at the highest resolution possible.
Anyone know of any such device out there or in the works?

I have a Sony Playstation 2 and have tried several different upscan converters. The best that I have found is the DVDO iScan Plus V2. It is mostly used for home theater, but it will output VGA for your computer monitor. http://www.dvdo.com/dvdo/iscanV2.asp
If you must have component video input, you could get the iScan Pro.

These can be found on Ebay for much less than retail price.
Another option, although not quite as good as the DVDO is the XRGB-2. See the review here:

You can buy the XRGB-2 here:

If you can afford it, the DVDO is by far the best. The picture is much smoother than the already excellent XRGB-2.

What you are looking for is expensive I am going to buy one for my TV when I get my new Time Warner Hi Def box because my TV only takes a VGA input for HI Def. Better cables sells a unit for 219.95 that is a Componet VGA Transcoder. . The guy I talked to was Brad Marcus phone # 1-877-433-7039.
The thing is the trascoder just turns the signal to VGA the DVDO is a line doubler. So it depends on what you are looking for.
