I'll admit that I used to listen to the Quake1 soundtrack - although back then I hated Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor, so I wouldn't have admitted to it back then.

I'll have to throw in more votes for Jet Grind Radio and Symphony of the Night. Both pretty cool. I actually have the japanese import of SoN with the extra cd of music from all the Castlevania games

- Creepiest soundtrack ever, movie or game. Pop CD 2 into a player, turn off the lights, and keep an extra pair of underwear handy. The 40s-style song at the end is excellent; just wish there was more than one loooong track so I could jump to it.

Quarantine
- This little-known car battle game (fun as hell, BTW) had some somewhat quirky garage-band style music. Not outstanding quality, but really fit the game nicely, and I still pop it into a player now and then.

Jet Grind Radio
- Great game, great soundtrack. Would play some levels just to hear the music. Too bad the sequel is on XBOX, and therefore, evil.

LEAST favorite music:
Marvel vs. Capcom 2, for Dreamcast
- Made worse by the fact that you couldn't turn the music off without simply muting the whole thing (which I always did). Without peer in infamy.

My favorite has got to be Final Fantasy 3.
Uh-huh... PacMan was great.
I really love the Zelda: OoT soundtrack although the addition of the main theme would have been nice.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater has a few choice cuts too...

FINAL FANTASY 6(aka FF3 in US)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!

Also, the highly underrated Final Fantasy 4(aka FF2 in US)!!! That game was my first RPG, and the first game I played that had a great soundtrack.

But I must also mention the highly underrated XENOGEARS soundtrack!! I wish that game got more exposure.

Here is my list of best soundtracks:

1) Final Fantasy 6(FF3 US)!!!!!
2) Final Fantasy 4(FF2 US)
3) Xenogears
4) Castlevania SotN

I just discovered a wonderful series today called Dragon Quest 1-7. The music is beautiful and there are at LEAST 10 loaded CD soundtracks of them too.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats the WipeoutXL and Wip3out soundtracks...

Thought I must admit, Super Mario Bros. had some addictive 8khz mono tunes...

Streets of Rage 2 and "Lightening" Force aka Thunderforce 4. I cannot believe they got such sweet tunes out of the Genesis.
