I was just wondering what is the best AVAILABLE or soon to be available Xbox bundle, either online or B&M? THanks

Camelot Music - I think it's called FYI Music (or FNI) or something weird like that now. They had some pretty cool packages for about $500 or so -- system, 3 games, another controller, memory card, and I think they had the dvd remote in as well. The only problem was, you couldn't choose the games you wanted. It was Halo, Project Gotham and Fusion Frenzy in one IIRC, and DOA3, Munch and something else in the other.

So, in the end I'm just sticking with the system I pre-ordered from them in March and preordering DOA3 and Halo from the gamestop (a lot closer distancewise for me).

I preordered mine at EB, but EB and Ebgames are sold out.

Stores owned by Gamestop, such as Babbages and Sowftware ETC are also sold out.

You may have to wait until launch to pick one up. Read the XBox preorder guide and decide what course of action you want to take.

I'm not knocking Xbox or anything, but is this product really going to make it with a 500 (bundle) price tag? In today's poll at gamefaqs.com, something like 70 percent of the video gamers polled don't even want one. Seems like it could be an iffy product to me (imho)

Why do people trust internet polls? I just don't get it.

You don't have to get a bundle. You can buy the XBox seperately on Launch Day.

This is my observation. People that spend all thier time on the internet readin game faqs and talking about anime in IRC are saying the XOBX is gonna suck simply because it's "fashionalbe" to hate Microsoft. All the guys I know in real life that are hardcore gamers are pretty damn excited about it (most of them for DOA3, me I want JGR2) A poll like that is kinda redundant. That would be like having a poll "Who is a better director? Kevin Smith or PT Anderson" on a View Askew fan site.

Well, you would think that probably the biggest online gaming site (private, that is, I know Gamespot and Ign are bigger) would know a little about the gaming industry. People just don't have 500 bucks to spend on the latest video games (imho, so please don't flame me again)

I never said the xbox(sic) is gonna suck or that is was fashionable(sic) to hate microsoft. And gamefaqs.com is a site for all video games, not just playstation2 or nintendo, so the partiality factor couldn't be involved.

People seemed to have no problems spending $500 (or $3000 for that matter) on the PS2 when it came out. I know I did - the $500 that is.

Tygloalex, your thinking is still warped.

Think about it for a second. Why do people go to gamefaqs? Ahh...To read faqs and cheats about games that have been released.

So what games have not been released yet? Ones for the XBox!

People who are buying the XBox will not be going to that site until XBox games are released. The majority of people going to that site are either PC, PS2, Dreamcast, N64, or GBA Owners.

Microsoft is pulling a sony and totaly screwing the customers. They won't sell systems by themselves, you have to buy a bundle. But I won't. I refuse to.

Anyways here are some sites:
Compusa.com
Best bundle, chose your games, no additional fees.
walmart.com
Crappy bundles, but If you can return the games individually at your local store and make out even.
Amazon.com
They should be selling bundles again real soon.

I am going to try to walk into to a store and just buy a system, a game, and a remote. Thats it.

P.S. what does B&M stand for?

Brick and Mortar........the actual building that you can go into. Ok I have a question for you guys now. I got in a very heated debate with the manager at EB yesterday. I said that Sony is giving places like his incentives to sell in a bundle. I went on to add that almost all places are doing this since the pricing scheme to these bundles are almost exact. He almost threw me out of the store for stating this. I was wondering if there is any proof to my accusations that I could show him because I remeber there being something like that. He also said that X box games are going to be around $55........is that ture?

Actually, you are right. EB doesn't actually receive money from Microsoft, but they do receive extra incentives such as Extra Marketing materials, training from Microsoft reps, extra allotments of XBoxes, and the test console in the EB stores.

Microsoft is doing that same for anyone that wants to sell in bundles. It is a smart way to saturate the gaming market with Pro-XBox material and try to make up for the loss of money from the expensive to make console.

And EB is selling games for 55 bucks. They did the same when the PS2 was released. You can get the games for 50 bucks any place else, but EB has a great 7 day full credit return policy for games that have been opened. I am already planning to trade Oddworld in for Amped after my 7 days are up.

Aghama, that doesn't even make sense. Pixyboi is talking about people he knows.

I am talking about people that use GameFaqs. The majority of those people are PC and PS2 users.

Do you have a point?

The only reason Nintendo didn't release a bundle like the Xbox is cause their launch only has 3 games of which I wouldn't pay a dime for any of them while for the Xbox, they will have much better titles not aimed at 4 year old kids. Had Nintendo had decent games on launch, they would have gone bundles too.

Although I do have to say, they should have limited the bundle to 1 or 2 games.

As for sic, isn't the the proper use is with square brackats[sic] and not parentheses.

All in all, the Xbox will sell all of it's available consoles at launch without any problems, bundles or no bundles.

Actually in Japan the retail atmosphere is completely different and most stores like Laox aren't reduced to or as shameful to sell bundles only to desperate customers who are forced to get bundle to get just the system and 1 game they want. I don't like the fact that Microsoft is pushing bundles by providing extra marketing(this is a big incentive for retailers), they're no stranger to the success bundles, I mean they've been bundling Internet Explorer with Windows for years and it has taken a jump over the userbase that netscape used to have. But now stores are pushing bundles for Gamecube too which just sucks. I HATE any store that sells bundles only unless it saves enough money to warrant the purchase(like the PS2 and GT3), whats the point of doing it then, otherwise they're just trying to make a dirty, easy high price sale. I don't want to spend half a grand on a when I can get it for ~$355. Same goes for the Gamecube, bundles just suck don't support stores that sell'em.

Hey, don't worry about it. It's all part of the game. It is like trashtalking in sports. You could have said X box was delivered straight from the hand of god and people would have rode your a**. Just take it in stride and never take anything personal. On a different note, I really hope that the Xbox ends up holding its own. The specs that it has seems to be too awesome for this machine to bite the dust. There is a very cool article in this Month's Playboy if anybody wants to check it out. Damn, I knew I could say I get it for the article's one of these days.

Tyglolex, I wasn't trying to flame you, just show the faults in your posts.

I really don't care what gaming console you choose. I just don't want you to speak incorrectly about the XBox.

If you want to argue with me, go right ahead. But don't play the flame card.

I do need another DVD player, so I'll probably get the XBox. I won't get the bundle though as a protest, besides some of those games will be cheaper to play on PC and I don't want to get stuck with the games I don't want. I am upset that MS is making us buy a remote in order to "activate" the dvd play option.

But I love the fact that it's got a broad band connection and a hard drive that will enable me to play online RPG games.

So what the hec is the difference between XBox and a PC with similar configuration!!!!

The "hardcore gamers" angle. If that's who it's appealing to, then why does the poll on gamefaqs not reflect that? I haven't heard of many hardcore gamers that didn't own a video game system or play PC games.

I don't mind spending the 500 bucks for a bundle because I would end up spending the 500 bucks anyway after I bought the system, games, accessories,etc...

I never said the people using GameFaqs are all Hardcore gamers. Some of them may be, but I bet the majority have a just a console or a PC. Anyway, it really doesn't make any difference.

With the exception of Hardcore gamers that buy all systems, Gamefaqs is used by regular gamers that want to know about games for a system that has already been released. The XBox does not qualify, nor does the GameCube. I wouldn't be suprised if both of them bring up the bottom of the polls.
