I can't see Konami destroying, and repressing the Japenese version of the game if they've already completed it. They'll probably only make changes on the domestic version, and we'll get a nice side by side comparison article on them a little down the road. -k ### |
I think they might eliminate the WTC from the Japanese version as well. I see very similar releases in this case, I could be wrong though.

The reason I say it probably will be the same is because the initial Konami statement came from the Japan development group and not the American side. A lot of people wrote messages on the MGS2 Japan home page asking for them to release it on time and uncensored. Taking out the WTC to keep up with the times and the realism of the here and now isn't really censoring I'd say.

Um, isn't the point of the game to DEFEAT terrorists? Bring it on!

Maybe there will be a some sort of code to include the scenes they cut out that will be released at a later date....

Originally posted by Keyser Soze If the WTC was originally put in the game, and if there were cut CG scenes in the game with it that are now being taken out... that is a form of censorship. -k ### Even if he was opposed, it would for the most part still be a normal function of a company which produces creative content. Calling that censorship would seem strange to me. Then again, in a country who thinks of censorship as what happened to Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show, it would be understandable if the term has become somewhat debased. |
