Better than X-Box??

The Next X-Box??

This is a PC/X-Box that runs windows and can play X-Box Games and also regular PC Games. I think it might play DVD's too, and also have a hard drive to do Tivo type recording for TV programs.
The ariticle is too long to post so just read it here

<inserts finger into mouth> Fished in!! <makes reeling motion>

This story smells like internet trickery to me, young stalward! While I am fairly sure that MS has something like this in mind, I don't believe that they would name that product "Homestation" or "anything-station".

If I was MS, I'd call this thing a PC with a DVDRom drive and a video capture card. Man, I'd love to be the guy to invent that.

Although research might have already started for a possible successor to Xbox, I doubt that this story is true. Just look at the name of the system -- HomeStation. I know that names of systems are tentative, but I don't think MS would ever name a game system with "Station" in it -- that moniker is too related to Sony.

I wouldn't put it past MS to try something like this.. but I think what I'd rather see is a way to play Xbox games on a regular PC

"Homestation Update"

I saw this while looking through some Nvidia investment information today.

Prudential Financial analyst Hans Mosesmann said in a note
that there is evidence to prove the existence of
"HomeStation." The device, rumored to be under development at
Microsoft, would combine a DVD player, personal computer,
digital video recorder, broadband Internet access and
Microsoft's Xbox video game console.
Nvidia makes the graphics chip for Xbox, and Mosesmann
said HomeStation could be a greater market opportunity for the
company than the game console has been.
The Xbox could be just the ticket for micro$oft to get into the home entertainment hardware business.

Thats a given. Sony, MS, AOL, Time Warner, EchoStar, and Cisco System are all looking to some sort of "set top box".
