I've heard that there will be a LE edition that is 6 discs, 4 for the game, 1 a VF4 LE fandisc, and a music cd. This is of course only what I've heard through the grapevine. What is not a rumor is that Shenmue II will not have english dialogue, so if ya can't read time to get hooked on phonics.

What I mean to say, is that there won't be an english dub, only english subtitles.

Fanboy: Easy pixyboi, or we'll put you in a home.
Pixyboi: You already put me in a home!
Fanboy: Well then, we'll put you in that crooked home we saw on 60 Minutes.
Pixyboi: I'll be good.

Off by a factor of 2. But still obscene for the time.

I know for sure that Phantasmagoria was 7 discs, but I'm sure that something else was larger..... I never played WC4 (I have WC3, but never finished it), so I didn't know for sure.

I'm pretty sure the X-Files PC Game was 8 discs.

Hm... I remember having to load 12 5 1/4" floppy discs to play the "cutting edge" games not too long ago. Looks like we might be in for a media change of some sort if games are taking this many CDs now.

hey i finishted that x-files game, man the load times were horrible though. if I wasn't such an x-files fan, I'd probably stop playing it after the 1st 1/2 hour because it was so slow. hehe

Wing Commander 4 was at most 7 discs, and X-Files, I believe is 6.

Nope

X-Files is 7. I had to dig it out cause I thought it was 8 as well. The only way to play the game is to do a full install of all 7 discs. Did it when I first got it and it ran sooo well. took most of my hard drive at the time but was well worth it.

:O Wow, how much is the budget for this game?
I enjoyed the original, but never took the time to finish it. Heh
Subtitles are fine for me. I prefer them anyways. Dubs make me cringe!

Let me guess, disc 1-3 are boring jobs that you don't get real-life money for, discs 2-4 are outdated, boring sega genesis games that you wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole except they're "inside another game, so they're so cool," discs 5-6 are full of poor voice acting and creepy children, and disc 7 is reserved for just general sucking.

Maybe they'll release a super-special edition with some actual gameplay. But don't hold your breath.

(A cookie for anyone who can guess my opinion of Shenmue 1... )

Thats what DVD-ROM is for- but they haven't really started taking advantage of it for gaming purposes yet.

Click "log in" and enter your username and password. Wham, you've got a cookie.

I don't know the flavor of the cookie, but this joke is definitely a bit cheesy...
