XBOX or PS2, which will be better?

Do you like the games currently available for your PS2? How about the games coming out in the future? Are Metal Gear Solid 2 and Devil May Cry your kinda thing? You can try the demos for these games on Zone of the Enders and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X respectively.
If not, and the XBox games (Halo, DOA3) seem to be further up your alley, then feel free to go with the X. Microsofts system is more powerful and capable of better graphical feats than the PS2, but the PS2 has the larger established user base which will weigh into developers minds.
Judge the system on the available games, going by your personal tastes, as well as it's potential in the future.

However I never buy a new system at launch. I am getting my PS2 in a few months. I tend to wait a year to prevent getting orphaned. My PC games fill in the time for me.
If you already have a PS2 then i would of course get any games you like for it.
It also depends on money- if money is no problem then pick up the xbox. if you do not want to waste money. then wait till there are enough games to make it worth the purchase.

Microsoft will need to show a hell of a lot more than they have already in relation to games being available THIS year for me to purchase this system on launch day.
Someone mentioned Metal Gear and Silent Hill for Xbox.....where are the confirmed release dates??? I am not willing to wait for Microsoft to finally get these two titles onboard when they will be readily available for the PS2.
IMHO

Well, I recently bought a PS2 because I couldn't resist the awesome NCAA and Madden 2002 games.
They have laid a foundation that I know will beat X-box in the end as far as sports consoles are concerned.
I'm a sports gamer, and PS2 seems to have EA locked up as their primary console. I hope so.

I really would like to try Xbox. But with the pricetag of
$ 500..... And judging from the all the specifications, brochures, ads, screenshoots of the games, I could not see its superiority to PS2 or GameCube. Okay so Xbox has ethernet, but I already Cable Modem with my PC. I love Action and RPG games. Xbox doesn't seem have a significant RPG game. Final Fantasy X is launching in Febuary 2002. Metal Gear Solid PS2 is coming in this November.
Unless, maybe X box would buy up Squaresoft and start franchising Final Fantasy series. Then without any hesistation, I will pledge my utmost support to it. Hail the emperor Bill.

Microsoft is evil, all of its power comes from the dark side of the force. Sony is good, and all of its power comes from the good side of the force. And as we all know, the dark side may look seductive and more powerful at first, but good ultimately wins out in the end.
