Your WSB2K2 thoughts...

So it's been out for a week or so, your thoughts?

I have found it to be a very enjoyable game with some minor stats problems and graphic glitches. Otherwise, it ranks up there with my favorite baseball games including the Griffey games on the SNES and N64 and Bases Loaded on the NES. And (like you didn't know this) it creams WSB2K1. Glad to see they made great improvements.

When WSB2K3 comes out (for X-Box or whatever other system), I am sure it will be near perfection. They are close to making a classic.

My brother, who is not a die-hard gamer but loves sports video games, has a DC, and I spoke with him yesterday about WSB2K2. He bought it on launch day, so he's had considerable time with it.

Bottom line, he loves it. I did warn him about a few of the glitches I'd heard about, and he called me yesterday to tell me he experienced what he considers the first real glitch he's seen. He was batting with John Olerud, and he crushed a home run to right-center field. The announcer yells foul ball, the screen shows foul ball, and it's treated just like a foul ball. He said that luckily he had a very comfortable lead so he didn't get too upset about it, but obviously that wouldn't have been good if it were a do-or-die situation for him.

He started a 162-game season and is well into it, although he wasn't happy about wiping out his VMU of his Virtua Tennis and NFL2K1 stuff to make room for it (like I said, he's not really a die-hard gamer and doesn't know a lot of extra tech stuff beyond the game he's actually playing, so whether or not he really had to delete those other save files, I don't know).

So overall, he loves it, and he's planning on bringing his DC over to my place this coming weekend so we can play (knowing full well he'll probably trounce me at it, but that's ok, I'll get my revenge with NCAA Football 2002

I got WSB2K2 at the release, I love it. It has great batting and pitching. The only thing that isn't that great is the fact that the games get really high scoreing. The game is still very solid though.

Best baseball game since WSBBII for the Saturn. Amazing damn game...I am addicted, 20 games into my season.

A few glitches here and there. There always seem to be wierd glitches in every baseball game.
