GBA darkness still around??

What happened to all the old complaints about GBA's darkness?? Did you learn to cope, or was it just with Castlevania that it was dark??

I think it was just that somebody read it on some site or comic, and then all decided to bandwagon the idea. People on the internet are like that. I haven't had any problems with my GBA that I didn't have with the Color or old B&W ones. (:

It's mainly Castlevania.

I bought it and that was the first thing I noticed about the GBA especially since I purchased Castlevania. I bought that Cobra light and it seems to work pretty well to help out. My friend got the worm, I didn't really compare which works better. However the Cobra Magnifier combo is TERRIBLE. It cuts off the sides of the screen, unless I had it angled wrong.

I heard the Pelican light shield was the best. It lights up the screen the best and acts a shield for the screen when not in use.

The InterAct one is much better than Pelican because it has an LED light. Its main problem is that it doesn't stay in the upright position, ie it's flimsy. One solution to this is to superglue it. The Pelican works well as a screen guard, but its light really sucks. Get the InterAct for playing and the Pelican for guarding the screen.

Better yet, go to www.gbalight.com and learn to mod a Pelican Light Shield Advance (the most well-constructed, but with a crappy incandescent bulb) with a $4.99 radio shack LED. It's not that difficult, if you have the tools. I did it, and it easily blows the three other lights I personally tested OUT OF THE WATER.
