NEW Xbox Launch Date! Before GameCube!
http://xbox.ign.com/news/37107.html
Looks like really preliminary info, But They seem pretty sure. Sounds like Xbox will be released on NOV 1 2001.
Whats this about the games being 34.99?? That seems pretty sweet if its true.

Smart move by Micro$oft. They know if they wait until after GameCube they have no shot of doing well. But I still think X-Box is going to have trouble. Just because most people aren't giving them a shot and labeling them a PC Console (which may or may not be the case). I'm surprised they'll have it done though. I thought I read X-Box may have to be DELAYED past the originally announced release date.

Uh, this won't make me even the slightest eager to run and get a X-Box. This was known about at E3 back in May. 2 Days is not going to make a difference and for 100 less you will be getting a superior product in the GameCube. There is no hype going around for the X-Box, good or bad, mainly because there is nothing positive to say about it. If being negative about the games and the system in general is hype, I'd have to say it's just reality.

Bill and MS are scared, that's why they're trying to rush the launch. I still think this system will tank within 2 years. (Same as DC).

Cool, so you guys can go pick up your 3DOs, oops... I mean X-Box, on November 1. You have to respect Microsoft, they would rather not have an excuse for their great failure and humiliation.

X-Box is DOA. The price point has already killed them. What parent in their right mind will spend $100 more to buy an X-Box over the latest Nintendo machine? Sony will likely drop the PS2 price by at least $50 to cut into the big N's sales. No way X-Box can survive at $299. The new kid on the block must be CHEAPER to survive.
I don't think Nintendo even worries about MS. Sony is their big concern...In fact, I doubt Sony cares about MS either.

I've always thought that the competition was going to be between the XBox and PS2 since they are marketed at the same audience. Unfortunately for MS, Sony is probably going to drop their price at just the right time. MS faces an uphill battle on every front.

I highly doubt that the Xbox games are gonna sell for $34.99 @ launch. MS will already lose at least $100 per system sold, and just like Sony, they will have to make it up in software sales. But, I guess I can see Xbox games selling for $34.99. MS is so loaded with cash that they can afford to take big hits in the wallet just to take a bigger piece of Sony's and Nintendo's pie.
