PS2 game error...?

I got my PS2 today and so far i'm liking it. But my ready to rumble disc grinds really bad, but GT3 is quiet as a whisper. I looked on the bottom of the R2R disk and the blue has a wave to it, i think the dye job on the disc may be messed up and thats whats causing it to grind.

Or am i wrong? Does anyone else have this game? Can you hear the drive working and Reading when you're playing the game, constantly?

Another thing is i bought this from a dealer in Canada, so i'm gonna have to ship it all the way back to them, and it'll probably be two weeks before i get the new copy in here. Does anyone know of a B&M that will take back an open package for an excahnge on a defective disc? (without a receipt from there) ...

Thank for any help.

A "wave" is in just a look there isn't any imperfections or anything it just looks like that then that probably wont do that. Also if you are using the vertical stand stop immediately it will hurt your games and make that noise too(anyone want to argue that point I have discs that look like crap after using the vertical stand just once). Otherwise I'm not sure.

I think this is normal...well not normal..but....

GT3 is on a DVD
R2R is on a CD..

The noises are different...
