Games that allow you to play entire game cooperatively?
Does anyone know of any games which allow you to play through the whole "story" game (ie, what you would play in single player mode) in a multiplayer cooperative mode?
eg, Hexen allowed you to play through the entire game with someone else, which enhanced the 'party of adventurers' fantasy feel. Nowadays, unless it's a purely online game like Everquest, they seem to limit multiplayer only to arena battles and what not.

The diablo games let you play multi-player through the sotry mode. Those are the only PC online games that come to mind at the moment. I think the Spec OPs games let you play two player online story as well but I'm not certain.

I have played the game in single player, and it also contains co-op in the single player story line. I haven't played multiplayer yet, waiting to get back to college, but from what I have read in other forums it is awesome. Plus the game only costs $20 US. A lot of people consider the gameplay to be like that of DOOM.

I don't see why you just don't get a bunch of friends and try an MMORPG... I just started Anarchy Online and for now there isn't much of a story, but apparently what they have planned is big and the side that plays with cooperation will win.

I have experienced Everquest and Asheron's Call and they're not what I'm looking for. The open-endedness is cool, but it also makes the games somewhat "pointless". I also dislike the fact that you have to keep paying to play it. Combined with the generally inferior graphics, I've never been too interested in MMORPGs.
I haven't tried Anarchy Online though, so I'll look into it.

Saw a preview of a game called The Adventures of Cookie and Cream for the PS2 that looks pretty fun and original. Though it can be played in single player mode it's almost a must to have another player play at the same time.

Gotta agree with Serious Sam, but get the patch, the version they released was rediculous trying to play online.
I've kept Quake installed just because of the ability to play some quick co-op.
I agree this is a sorely neglected mode.
