I went to trade in my 4 GB games for a GBA game and they said I need the boxes and instructions because they need to resell them. I could have swore I read on here that no boxes or instructions were needed.

I do not deal with EB locally too often but I can say their online service is nothing but excellent. Especially with the launch of the PS2....my order had been switched to EB when EB bought out Gamedealer or whatever it was called....and still received my PS2 system within two weeks of the actual launch date.

The ad in EGM says clearly that no instructions or boxes are needed. However, many EB managers like to make their own rules. If you can find the latest EGM it has the ad inside. If all else fails try another EB or call the district manager and ask him why the local store does not follow the rules of the offer.

Yeah, the new EGM has the ad - I have it on my desk It does clearly state that you don't have to have either box or the instructions. For past trade ins though, the manager has said only box/instructions, though that contradicted other information. I'm sure that makes it easier for them to sell them...so I'm guessing thats why some managers do that.

I called before I went and they ever said on the phone no boxes or instructions. I traded in some old games like from 91-92 for Castlevania.

It is EGM and I am assuming it would be the most current edition...take the magazine up to the store in question and shove it up the manager's arse.

They accept trade ins without boxes and instructions, but they will give you less credit if this is the case. That is why i think on specia offers (trade in x get y) you need to meet the criteria of boxes and instructions so that way they don't loose out on the deal.

At my local EB, different people claim different things. I called ahead, and got some person who said that boxes and instructions WERE required. However, when I stopped by the next day, another guy was there, and he accepted my games with no boxes or instructions... although he DID ridicule the games I brought in (He REALLY was displeased that I traded in Penguin Wars)

Mine took them without the boxes or the instructions. One of the "games" I traded in was the old Spanish-English translator that came out in the early 90's. They took it, with no problems whatsoever.

I just traded in four random games for Castlevania and they took them all no box, no instruction. I did not have them, because they did not have them at the used game store I purchased the games from 20 minutes before I traded them in.

They also suck because they won't sell the GBA unless you buy 2 games and the battery pack with it. $200. I just want the GBA and 1 game, maybe 2 right now... Plus you have to wait for week or two before they even sell it that way.

Check Walmart, Best Buy and Target. You only have to pay $89.99 for the GBA and you can get whatever else you want. Nintendo is shipping out another 500,000 units over the next three weeks so just keep checking the stores. Don't settle for EBs bundle if you don't want it.

Yeah I have been checking Wal-Marts in the hopes of being able to lay-a-way a GBA and a few games until I actually get enough $$$ to buy it. There are several Wal-Marts around me and none of them have had it. I will get one, but it may be a few weeks. No biggie.

I traded in 8 games with no boxes or instructions last week and got Castlevania and Rayman with no problems. The ad clearly says no boxes or instructions. It is on a subscrition card type thing in the EB ad in the newest EGM, the one with the GBA on the cover.

i just wanted to second the fact that EB sucks. I wanted crazy taxi 2, so I had to go in there today. They are such losers, that I'm buying everything online from now on. It amazes me that they can even find employees that are so pathetic.
