Here's one: Build housing near people's workplace, or they'll spend too much time in transit, and never get much accomplished. Especially true with builders, and by the same token, make sure construction sites are near all construction project. Watch your builders: if they're walking all day, getting to the project, and turning right back around to go home, build another construction office.

I'm really late to the party, I know, but I just got this game last week - the "Mucho Macho Edition" was packaged with Stronghold (which I have yet to play) for $10 at Best Buy. I'm really loving it. So far, I'm going a straight-up capitalism route and doing well. I think next I'll go hardcore socialist and see if I succeed at that.

My computer's so old, though, that when there gets to be a lot of stuff going on, it's pretty choppy. It should run smoother on my (newer) laptop, once I get it back from the shop.

And the music for this game is excellent.

Wow... thread from the dead.

I got Tropico II a few months ago and that's pretty fun.

Great jumpin' Jebus, the reply notification for this thread confused the hell out of me. I didn't even know DVDTalk was still around. ^_^
