I've recently heard there will be a release of PSO version 2. Is it basically the same game a version 1 with a few add ons or is it a sequel to PSO? I'm asking because I haven't yet purchased PSO and now don't know which one I should get (or both). Plus I'm in Israel and online gaming isn't really an option for me (because of the connection speeds). So, should I even mess with the PSO games if they will be for offline play only?

I can't answer your first question, because I don't know the differences, but I just picked up PSO, and I'm not a RPG fan, I've never played any Phantasy Star game, but this game rocks. I've played three days straight offline to build up my character and it is addicting. Online play enhances this game, but even offline this game is worth getting.

PSO2 is just a Add-on. PSO is a very good offline game by itself but if u could get online it makes the game great.

PSO version 2 adds an online soccer game, new weapons and armor, new spells, an extension of the experience cap from 100 to 200, a new boss (the Silver Dragon) and a harder difficulty level. Those are just some of the improvements that I know of off the top of my head. My advice...wait to buy version 2.

So I wouldn't have to already own PSO to apply ver 2. Or would I have to have the original PSO? Or does ver.2 already include everything that the original game has and then some???

Version two will have everything and then some So you won't need to own the first one.

shuki - i saw your other post and i wouldn't buy it if you can't play online. most of the fun of the game comes from trading for the cool weapons that you would never find offline, and playing with people you meet online. it gets repetitive very fast playing offline.

I heard there was a 4 player death match style game in the new version too!
