The graphics look like the old Nintendo 8-Bit system.

And for being a hand held system. that kicks ass.

It is very small, very comfortable, the graphics are very nice for what it is. It has a good working Street fighter, with all the classic characters. it has final fight, it has castlevania.

it has backwards compatability.
It is very much worth it.

Actually, the GBA is similar to the 16-bit SNES, with a lower resolution because of the screen size.

For a $99 handheld, it's pretty amazing.
Decent screen, long battery life, SNES level gaming, and it's backwards compatible with all GB / GBC games.

Anyone who is a "hardcore" or a even a "softcore" gamer, SHOULD buy one of these....I mean....it's a SUPER NES that's portable for God's sakes! Handheld gaming isn't about "graphics" it's about portable fun..and GBA delivers! Trust me, I already have mine, and wouldn't trade it for the world.

The biggest thing that caught my eye was that the graphics are almost, if not wholly, like the SNES. Imagine the power of a little handheld system that can mimic the power of a full size console (yes, I do still have and frequently play SNES).

I probably won't get one. I just can't stand the screen visibility of the GBA and this is suppose to be slightly worse. I bought a portable screen for the PSOne, and while bulkier, it truly kicks. I may get a GBA if the screen turns out to be decent. My SNES probably gets more game play than any other system.

Word. (though I never really understood what the term "word" meant, it is, in this case, a form of agreement)

Who cares about graphics, all that matters is that the games are fun to play. Plus the graphics are on par with the 16-bit SNES not the 8-bit NES anyway. There will be a ton of great SNES ports, as well as updates to classic games like Castlevania, and F-zero. As with all Nintendo systems there will be great first party games with great gameplay. That alone makes GBA worth it IMO.

The graphics are, in my opinion, between a Super Nintendo and a Playstation in quality. Look at Golden Sun, for instance.

Excatly why it's hardly worth it. Besides, I never understood how you could be desperate enough to buy a handheld system just to play games that were good 10 years ago. Makes me ask myself, can't these people face reality anymore? I mean jeeze, I'm sure spending 20 minutes talking to other people or thinking will really kill you if you don't have your little Gameboy to save your life.

If you both think that the GBA graphics look like the old Nintendo 8-bit system, then neither of you have a clue about how graphics look on an 8-bit Nintendo. The GBA looks at *LEAST* as good as The SNES. Sometimes, it even looks better than that. For an example, see these screenshots of WarioLand 4 on the GBA:

I was comparing my SNES to my GBA and think that the GBA looks better on all the games I have played on the SNES since I got the GBA
