Any assitance in locating cheap deals on PS2 games is appreciated. I only know of half.com and atleast there you run the risk of never receiving your merchandise!

you'll be lucky to find it in a non-bundled deal for $299 for the next couple of months.

Don't expect much more of a deal than that, it's already being sold at something like $180 below cost

if you really want a "deal," wait for Xbox and Gamecube to show up and it'll drop then

Yeah, bargains on the system or on games are few and far between. You might want to keep checking the website http://www.ps2bargains.com/
as they are always updating and posting deals.

In the Detroit area, I saw a Target and a Best Buy that had the PS2 for $299, non bundled.
I'm probably going to wait until the game cube and x-box come out and see what the prices turn out to be.
I want to get the x-box. The only reason I'm going to get the PS2 is to keep playing the final fantasy series.

A couple suggestions for games...

Check out http://www.buyrite.net. New U.S. games are $39.99 if you buy 4 or more. Their shipping is high on orders of 1 or 2 items as well, so I usually combine my order with friends and get 4 or more games at once anyway.
Several people have complained about their inventory / customer service problems, but I haven't had any problems ordering recently released titles.

Also, KB toystores have had a promotion running for a while now where you get $10 off on 2 PS2 games or $20 off on 3 PS2 games. Not as cheap as buyrite, but it's the best I've seen for new release B&M prices.

Avoid this retailer like the plague. You may not have any problems, but in my opinion, it's not worth the risk.

A few places like Best Buy and Walmart have lowered prices on some earlier/less selling games like Kessen, Gungriffon Blaze, X-Squad, and some others.

Give this site a try:

http://www.DVDHeadGames.com

Not the most complete selection but they have the top PS2 titles for $43 - $46.

They show inventory, so you know if you'll get it and it ships right away.

PS2 consoles are available UN-bundled for $299.99. They also have a few accessories.

Buy and Trade -- Ebay style

New and sealed PS2 games can be purchased for about $25 to $35 plus about $5 for shipping on ebay. Most sellers have high positive feedback ratings and are very reliable. If you can't find the game you want on ebay, buy a game you DON'T want, and then trade it in at Media Play or Toys R US, etc. Most stores will allow you to trade an unopened sealed game for another of the same retail price. For example: I just bought a brand new ESPN NBA 2 Night PS2 game for $28 on ebay. I plan to hold it until Red Faction comes out and then trade it in for that. Red Faction for $28 is a good deal.
