hi,
i'm about to move into a large house and will have nothing but space. i have always wanted an arkanoid cocktail game, but i have absolutely no idea how to go about purchasing it (looked around the internet a bit and couldn't find it for a decent enough price). any info into finding this game for cheap would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks dudes
ps - if you know of any resources for ULTRA-cheap games, i may be willing to pitch in some more for Ring King and a few others

I've often thought about doing this... came close to buying a real pinball machine a few times, but always chickened out. Buying something so big and expensive from far away with no recourse if it turns out to be a dud is what's kept me from doing it.
Anyways, ebay has *tons* of stuff...

No Arkanoid tables right now, but there's a standup for at $250 going right now...

There is probably some type of wholesaler you can get arcade games from. Ask a manager at a local arcade/bowling alley/sports restraunt where they get their stuff from. You can probably find older games that are moderately priced. I would love to know what the shipping cost is on these things.

I have purchased a number of games and pins. Ebay is where I have purchased most of them. It ends up being cheaper than wholesalers. Make sure you talk to the seller oftern before you buy. Get closeups, find out everything possible problem, and only buy from very good, reputable sellers.
Note that for a cocktail table, you will pay dearly. I only bought uprights because I had the room and didn't want to pay the premium for the sitdown. I had a mint Joust and a Sinistar I got rid of most recently.
Lastly, it is a great pipe dream and is much more fun to imagine having than it really is to have. That doesn't mean don't get it, but it is a better conversation piece and penis envy device for your buds, than of an entertainment machine. Once you check the price, you may find you are better off buying a big screen, get the NES Rom disc for your playstation and have fun with that.

Most cities will hold auctions specifically for arcades and pinball machines. Check the paper to see if there's going to be one near you. Games will go for really cheap at auctions.
Also, check the classified adds in your paper. Most papers have a 'game room' or similar section. I bought 3 standup arcades from a guy who sold them out of his garage for a couple hundred bucks each...if you buy them on ebay, expect to pay nearly $200 for shipping alone.

So are there any websites out there of wholesale dealers? I'd like to do some window shopping.
