Every system I've bought new, I've gotten ON Launch Day. My DC< I preordered it at TRU and picked it up after work. Had to pay 199.99, but I got to play NFL2K and that was all that mattered.
My PS2: I preordered at a local shop about, oh, 14 months before launch day. I'm glad I thought ahead.... I got Madden..and Onimusha..but that's about it...
My GBA: already have it, but I HAD one preordered
My SNES: again, launch day at EB
What about you guys? ARe you launch day poeple? or do you wait for the deals.????

No on everything but the PS2, which is odd, because it didn't have a great starting line-up.
Oh, well. Someday, I can tell my grandkids, "When I was a boy, I had to wait 14 hours outside a wal-mart in the freezing cold and rain to get a game system." Damn wipper-snappers.

Only system I've gotten at launch was the N64. I'll probably pick up a Gamecube at launch too. I got my Playstation when Final Fantasy VII came out. I got my Dreamcast a couple months after launch. When I was younger I got both the NES and SNES a year or two after launch.

I've only bought a DC at launch - for $200, it wasn't a bad deal at all. I was heavily debating the PS2, but when it came out, I just didn't have any cash. Still haven't bought one, coz of the lack of quality games (and the wealth of $10 DC games I recently bought

I'm even worse... I'm a Japenese launch day person!
I usually pick up the 'original' Jap version of the units months before they even hit the US shores.....
This does have its advantages (even though it's very expensive)!
I have the original PS2 which came with the 1.00 drivers that lets me play NTSC US DVDs on it.
Prices I've paid (before trading in stuff for consoles):
$649.99 PS2 back on March 24 (launch day in Japan)
$699.99 My Dreamcast (yea, that one still stings a little!
Luckly, I have a good job that lets me spend a little extra when I really want to!
-keyser " I gotta stop doing this" soze

No. I wait and look around for games I like or if i find a deal then i might jump on it. I also do not like waiting in line.
The only time I ever did wait in line for a new release in the game field was for Diablo 2. I waited in line until the UPS driver delivered the games went in and got my prepaid copy. I was playing it right away
