im actually shooting for tonihgt also. Im in the east coat. Shooting for 11 oclock. I suxs i work till 9pm. I just hope win98 wont crash...lol

Its nothing fancy my home pc. its on a cable modem. its a duron 750 with 320mb ram. I think its ok, i dont think we are going to have that many players

cool. i just ask because i think your system specs and upload speed will directly determine the max number of players allowable. somethings there are workarounds (for example, you set max players to higher than 4 but it still defaults back to 4, there is a possible fix for that). let us know if there's any trouble.

Hey thatr would be great if you could send me the fix. To be honest i dont know how many players im going to be able to have. I was shooting for about 8

best thing to do is just try setting it up first with maxplayers #(whatever you feel your system can handle). If setting it at 8 doesn't work you have to add a variable to your shortcut target line. that variable is heapsize (which allocates a ram size that you specify for the game)

so, you want 32MB dedicated to the game? it would be

-heapsize 32000

128 MB to the game?

-heapsize 128000

this is what the target line will look like (if your cstrike folder is in c:\sierra:

c:\sierra\half life\cstrike\hl.exe -game cstrike -heapsize 128000

there are other variables you can mess with also but i have to leave work now. talk to you later
