I was at my friends house and they were watching ABC, CBS, or NBC and it was this show where this straight guy was moving in w/ this gay guy to roommate and um... all that stuff. It was so funny. I didn't think mainstream TV could be that funny anymore. What show was it? I must know.

Will and Grace are roommates again. Jack was staying with Will, but he traded places with Grace; she moved back in with Will, and Jack moved into Grace's apartment, across the hall.
As Venusian and Guyot already pointed out, the show Shaggy was asking about is Some Of My Best Friends, on Wednesday nights on CBS. It's a great show; Alec Mapa, the guy who plays Vern, the best friend of Jason Bateman's character, is hilarious.

Not to mention that I didn't laugh once during an entire episode... not even a half smile.

I agree that this show is amazingly lame, and outdated to boot. Best thing about the movie was the title, and they didn't have the nerve to leave that in place...
The lead actors are pleasant enough and likeable, but the supporting "best friends" are awful on both sides. And the writing?
Both episodes I've seen were so predictable--both in the jokes and the overall plot--that they could have been written by computer. I love how they "denote" the gay decor by having a Yentl poster in the living room. And this is supposed to be the "sophisticated" guy? Come on.
Will and Grace, which I don't even like, is genius compared to this lemon.

It was short-lived on CBS and called "Some Of My Best Friends Are" and I've love a DVD release even though there was not many episode aired.
