There is a new Babylon 5 movie, called To Live and Die in Starlight, which will serve as the pilot for a new series Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers.
The official announcement was made yesterday on http://www.scifi.com and comfirmed by the series creator, jms.
You can read jms's comments on the website http://www.jmsnews.com ...
Anyone else as excited as I am?

I'd be more excited if I didn't already feel that JMS had over-extended himself writing 15 different projects at once. At this rate, he'll never finish "Rising Stars" (the comic or the proposed television series), "Midnight Nation," the new Spiderman comic, the new JMS "universe" of related books, let alone a new Babylon 5 series. The man's plate is just TOO FULL. There's no way he can pull off all these projects and keep a modicum of quality in each.

DVD Talk Legend
Ever hopeful, I'm always excited by the prospect of another new SciFi space series.
I worry tho, that the story of the Rangers is going to bring out the jingoistic and macho-posturing side of JMS, which is always a bit lame... And I pray he has someone else writing the dialog.
But I'll be there!

Great news! I don't doubt that this may not be as
fine a series as B5 was but still I'm sure it will
be superior to most televison series at the very
least.

Psyched beyond words. Will probably be a better offering than a new Star Trek show.
Rising Stars is coming along nicely, and I had not heard it was going to be a TV show? He did write a movie script for it though.

Actually Rising Stars is being developed as a movie (or series of movies) not a tv show.
Most likely JMS won't be writing every single episode of the show as he did with most of B5. If he could pull that off (which is essentially a script a week) and still maintain the quality he did, I think he can pull all this off.

Kelric - hell, I'd love to see the sci-fi channel back Crusade and let Joe tell that story. Gary Cole was just perfect as the lead on that. That guy has the most amazing glares.
