Easy...all would be recent seasons too, since the first two seasons dont really count becasue the show was getting its footing.

The Worst- the all too serious, Milhouse's parents getting a divorce.

-Maude Flanders death

-Bart melts the Christmas presents and says they were stolen so the Simpsons get sympathy.

- The boy band, The Who, The Hells Satan's, and so forth have been only one or two joke shows.

I think all of those were fine except the boy band one. I was so pissed off after they ran that one.

C'mon?...Milhouse's Parents getting a divorce was like a damned afterschool special, predicatable and preachy. i watch Simpsons for absurd, surreal jokes, not drama and life lessons.

I hate the one where Homer dreams about a talking fox... I can't even remember what the plot was since everytime this particular episode is on re-run I wind up changing the channel. (What's the plot on this episode anyway?)

The one where Homer and Bart raise a Dennis Rodman-like horse. In fact, wasn't that the episode where the comic book store guy actually said "worst episode ever"? That episode was painful to watch.

Many of the episodes from the past few seasons come to mind also.

I was trying to remember which episode that was; the collector guy was the first thing to pop in my head when I saw this thread.

WORST EPISODES?
Every episode in Season one was sh!t.
Probably because Groening was still a writer then. He may have some great ideas but he can't write comedy.

Yeah, I have to admit Maude Flanders' death seemed pretty odd and out of place--that didn't work at all for me.

When the Guy said that, Marge had just made a comment about betting on the horses (a referance to the time Springfield opened a casino and Marge developed a gambling habit). I believe that was the "episode" he meant when he said "worst episode ever." He even popped up again later with a "Hey, I'm watching you!" when Marge again hinted at gambling.

(boy, I know way too much about TV :/)

c'mon this was a funny episode:

MARGE: "Hey, anyone see that new Woodsy Allen movie?"
FLANDERS: "I like his films, except for that nervous fella who's always in 'em."

My pick:

'Faith Off' (Maude Flander's Death Episode). They didn't have to kill her; they could have just make her mysteriously disappear when her voice left. Not one laugh in that episode. None of the episodes can compare to some of the episodes this season. Even the ones in the first season had morals and some insight...

Yeah, but Maude's death episode led to Homer doing all those star-wipes on Flanders' dating video.

JoeC...and star-wipe, fade to black!

Thanks everyone. If you will notice from my first post i didnt mention the Rodman Horse one. i do believe i had effectively wiped that one from my memory until its mention here. Ugh...it was a bad one, but i still say Milhouse's Parents divorce with Maude Flanders death in close second- it gets second because Flanders in the shower was too funny.

Lots of bad episodes (and lots of good ones) but the one that comes to my mind right now is the mock "behind the scenes" documentary on the show.

You mean the "Behind the Laughter" episode? I loved that episode, and it was really funny. Go figure.

I agree with Milhouse's parents getting divorced. Not much there.

My vote goes to that episode where they accidentally killed the alligator and end up going to prison. It was just horrible. Especially when they end up working at the diner and living in the trailer. It just didn't feel like the Simpsons.

Milhouse parents' divorce might've been a not so good episode, but it did set-up the ever great "Weekday dad wanted to buy a DVD player" joke...one to remember!

I guess it's true that one person's favorite episode is bound to be someone's least favorite and vice versa.

Any of the episodes from the last two years are good candidates, especially last season. I'd say by far the worst was "Behind The Laughter", the behind-the-scenes episode that ended last year's horrible season. I remember sitting in the TV room watching it with my dad and almost feeling embarrased at how un-funny it was.

Like JoeC said, someone's least favorite is bound to be someone else's favorite. Many are knocking the "Behind the Laughter' episode, but I believe that episode won them the Emmy last year.

I'm only an on-and-off Simpson's viewer nowadays, and haven't been paying close attention over the past two years.

Still -- I was apalled at how lame last night's ep was... [Old Springfield/New Springfield/Who Concert]

How can you not like the episode where Milhouse's parents get divorced? I saw a re-run of this the other day, and have just five words...

Can I borrow a feeling?
