For fans of the English tv show Eastenders, the writing off of Dirty Den Watts as a Mob killing was excellent, that's my fav killing off of a character in a tv show

I though when Thirtysomething killed off Gary was very unexpected. Another character appeared to be nearing the end due to cancer. Instead, the scene shows gary leaving the household on his bike and then getting killed by a motorist. It was very sad and shocking at the time.

MASH -

Lt. Col. Henry Blake's plane is shot down over the Sea of Japan. There are no survivors.

Best yet, Radar delivers this news to the MASH team.

There are always a bunch of people in tv shows that I wish would be killed off, but I can't remember it ever actually happening.

The killing of Maude Flanders on The Simpsons. I didnt actually dislike the character but, the way they did was quite funny.

Are u kidding? It was totally unexpected. One minute, I'm laughing at homer dancing around and the next Maude is dead. It's just weird.

Nearly everyone in every Blackadder series. The most poignant being 'Blackadder Goes Forth'.

No-one has mentioned Doyle's passing in Angel season 1.
Top quality writing and acting. The poignant re-showing of the 'world needs heroes' video he made earlier in the episode was superb.

I also liked the Gardenn of Gethsemane episode on Babylon 5.
If you don't remember - it was the one about the monk who learnt that he was actually a serial killer who'd undergone 'Death of personality' after he was caught. Again, fantastic writing and acting, and a genuine highpoint in an already exceptional series.

The death of Captain Sisko in the episode "The Visitor". If you haven't seen this episode, see it now!

I'm not referring to the series finale, btw.

That episode didn't feel like I was watching "The Simpsons".

I liked the two different episodes of ER where Dr. Gant kills himself and Kelly Martin was stabbed.

Most of you have probably never seen this, but the death of Detective Garibaldi (Ken Olin) on Hill Street Blues was not only unexpected, it was the best death scene I have ever seen performed by an actor on television.

Watching the A&E special on "Sesame Street" reminds me of the tender and honest way they dealt with the death of Mr Hooper (Will Lee).

Watching the clip again brought tears to my eyes all over again.

How about ALL the characters, except the main baddie (Shao Khan), getting killed in the season finale of Mortal Kombat: Conquest! And then there was never a season two, so we don't know what happened!

Did they ever deal with the death of Coach? I only remember a few lines here and there, but I don't remember them saying anything about it.
