Will you watch Boot Camp?

Yet another Fox reality show where contestants are put through Boot Camp by real military officers/non-coms. I'm afraid of a Full Metal Jacket scenario, to be truthful, (Vincent D'Onofrio's character, in particular).

I've seen 5 mins of Survivor, I thought it was gay. Never watched it since. DOn't watch any of that other crappy reality shows either. I'd rather stare at the pretty wall...

If by gay, you mean crappy, than your post is quite gay, SirPablo. Using the term as a general insult may be common among schoolage kids (thanks, South Park) but that doesn't make it alright.

No. Besides it being another in the stupid reality show trend I find it a little offensive that they're taking what our servicemen do as a matter of course and making it into a TV show. I'm far from some big patriotic chest-beater but being in a REAL boot camp is pretty damned tough and I have respect for those who do it WITHOUT the goal of being on some lame TV show and being famous; to turn those experiences into another TV show is highly disrespectful to our people in uniform I think and I imagine if any of them watch it they'll either be pretty darned insulted or laughing their heads off at the candy-arsed morons on it.

Dunno if I'll watch it, but I kinda agree with Lester on this one.
I have no problem with reality shows, and god knows I watch my share of crap. But there's something toxic about taking military service and turning it into just another reality show gimmick.
Maybe it's just that it trivializes the whole thing and makes it seem stupid, rather than damn serious. Does seem like an insult to the folks who've gone thru it for real.

I went through Navy RTC 11 years ago...I'm kinda curious to see how Fox will commercialize/sensationalize/trivialize it...Fox is on my sh|t list after that Moon Landings Faked show...

Yes, I will be watching Boot Camp. Looking at the information at http://www.fox.com/bootcamp it looks like it may be good.
