What a season finale!

Spoiler:
How come nobody noticed Reverend Clutia was missing? What a f'd up way to go.

I really thought Beecher was gonna go free, that sucks.

Kareem Said was awesome when he took out Schillinger and damn Agustus takin' care of Supreme Allah.

Why are the seasons so damn short, how much longer till we see new episodes?

Spicollidriver1 02-26-01 09:47 PM

I love this show, where's my dvds. :)

tsohg 02-26-01 11:58 PM

The DVD's should be coming soon according to ign.com and the new season wont start until April 2002 :( that is waaaaaay too long but they will rebroadcast seasons 1-3 in the meantime :) time to finally get TIVO

Alexwfan 02-27-01 12:07 AM

Where did you hear that the next season is not airing until April 2002? I thought the new season started in July! Please tell me that the 2002 comment was just a cruel joke!

Oz's fifth season to air this summer

Here's an excerpt from the Philadelphia Inquirer 01/04/2001:

When HBO couldn't guarantee Oz's renewal, Fontana shot two different endings for the eighth episode. One was a series finale, the other a cliffhanger.

The cliffhanger won. HBO gave Oz a go, and production on the next batch of eight episodes will begin in April at an old naval yard [Marine Ocean Terminal] in Bayonne, N.J., for showing this summer.

Danny in Yorktown, VA.

I just started watching OZ about 6 or 7 episodes ago. It is fantastic. I definitely need the DVDs for this series since I have only recently discovered it. The deal with the Reverend was really spooky - seriously, don't they have a bed check to count all the inmates?

Woohoo!!!!

This show rocks! I started watching this when I got a dish. Picked up where that french guy killed like four or five people. Saw some chunks of episodes before that. This is the best show on television. Sopranos and Buffy are 2nd and third.

I just realized, the kitchen blowing up could mean 2 things for Rev. Cludiya (or however it's spelled)

1. The explosion blew him up, leaving no evidence of his death.

Or

2. The explosion caused the wall he was buried behind to break away, allowing him to be found and rescued.

I actually like his charachter, especially after what went down, it'd be great for him to show up those fools that buried him alive.

The season finale was ****in-a! I LOVE OZ, NOW GIVE ME A DAMN DVD BOX SET HBO.

Oh yeah, OZ got renewed for a 5th season. They will start shooting new season for OZ this FALL or possible late summer.

WOOO-WHOOO!!!

Nahh, don't think the Rev. Cloutier (another spelling?) would be alive...the kitchen either blasted his body apart or at least blew the wall apart allowing his body to be found.

But if the writers wanna try to explain that he will be RESCUED...I'd like to see how they explain that...:)

I thought the reason we don't already have DVDs is because of Rysher (distributor). Where on ign.com did you hear differently??

BRING ON THE DISCS...

The last two seasons were horrible. The show really went downhill fast. But on a different note I notice a lot of people from Dexter in the series. I wonder if they ending the series early and still had people on contract so said what the hell lets use them on Dexter.

My Other Self 05-28-08 10:48 AM

I was a huge, huge fan of Oz when it originally ran. A lot of the ex-cast wound up on Law & Order: SVU which honestly, is why I started watching it.

Still wish Ernie Hudson would find another starring vehicle.

:hscratch: Oz ended four years before Dexter started...and on a different Network.

Except OZ was an HBO show and Dexter is a Showtime show...

Baron Of Hell 05-28-08 11:01 AM

Couldn't they be on contract with the producer. For example Joss used a bunch of firefly people on different networks.

But that was the same production company (Mutant Enemy), Tom Fontana's production company has nothing to do with Dexter. I think it is just a coincidence.

RichC2 05-28-08 12:28 PM

Now THAT is a thread resurrection.

I was always wondering about the connection between L&O and Oz. The OZ people have been all over every L&O series. Of course by now, who hasn't made at least a cameo on L&O?

saoirse 05-28-08 04:32 PM

Strange resurrection indeed.

Great show, all seasons (unlike Sopranos which sucked major ballz after season 3).

Baron Of Hell 05-28-08 05:01 PM

I just finished the series yesterday, so search for thread about it.

When shows air in New York (or was it New Jersey at points for Oz?), the pool of TV actors is somewhat smaller than it would be for shows shot in LA. The pool of actors that are cut out for this sort of graphic drama is probably even smaller (remember that the biggest overlap is SVU to Oz).

An4h0ny 05-28-08 05:48 PM

Waaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllt!!!!

BJacks 05-28-08 05:55 PM

I seem to remember Oz starting out as a gritty, partially realistic depiction of prison life, and towards the end seasons completely disintegrating into absurdly cartoonish plotlines and situations.
