best show ever ?

Fawlty Towers !

I prefer The New Detectives on Discovery ... it's real.

Oh, and ...

This is the first television drama that has focused on the forensic science aspect of crime solving.
Please, sir, let's not discount the greatness of Quincy.

I like it as well. CBS has a lot of good shows now it is amazing the turn around they have had.

Am I the only one that thinks this show is totally outrageous? They don't act like crime scene investigators. They act like police officers. Since when do people confess to CSI's?

I can't get past the lack of realism but I have to admit that I enjoy the "Fight Club" like editing and effects.

I watched for the first time this past week and I was very impressed. I will definitely tune in from now on.

Patman 03-05-01 08:45 AM

I liked the character arcs behind the crime cases. They are real people with real problems while doing a difficult job. Too bad Nick's hooker-friend got the axe a few shows ago, we need more of Krista Allen on TV!

RDYoung 03-05-01 10:14 AM

I have to say that there is quite a bit of dramatic license taken with this show. I enjoy the way it is produced, and the style of the show(I've only seen one ep, because I'm not home thursday nights).

My real complaint with this show is that many, many of the things these guys do they would not be doing. Many crime labs have procedures for doing things that really aren't reflected here(people really don't traipse around the labs, the print labs and stuff would be more secure, etc.) Also, several of the databases that you see the people using are not readily available to anyone(even law enforcement--i.e. Social Security information). Also, many of the cops down here were questioning the csi guys interrogating people. I've not seen it happen here, and am not really sure it would. Again, Drama.

Good show--I'd watch it more if I were home.

I'm sorry, but the best show ever on television? I've
been watching television since the '50's and I really
don't think this show, however good it is, comes anywhere
near being the best show ever in television. There is no
such thing of course, but still ...

Sara Sidel from CSI is played by actress Jorja Fox. You may have seen her recently on "The West Wing" where she played Secret Service Agent Gina Tuscano or a few years ago on "ER" as lesbian resident Maggie Doyle.

Oh yeah, this show is super-de-duper original.

How long can they sustain a show that involves the murder of at least one showgirl a week?

And puh-lease, it's on CBS. Who watches CBS? (Retirees and invalids).

I'm guessing you've seen maybe one episode, if any of CSI and that you don't watch much TV.

Or you just are a cranky person who gets his jollies by trolling on message boards.

I love this show! Some of you are way too critical of the show.
Of course it's not true to life. Why do we watch television?
To escape the real world, unless you're into the whole "reality show" thing.
(Which, by the way, is anything but "real")
Bottom line is...Is it entertaining? I say, "ABSOLUTELY!!!"

I know I look forward to the day this show is released on DVD!
But, until then, I'll be watching every week!

Is it to much to ask that a show about CSI's actually show how CSI's work? They are not police officers. They do not "harrass" witnesses. People don't confess to CSI's.

"Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken..." Or something like that...

OK, you can watch that boring realistic show that's not on TV for obvious reasons. I'll watch the entertaining unrealistic show that is on. :)

Patman 03-10-01 12:31 PM

I can't believe that CSI was rated #3 in the Nielsens last week, right under Survivor (#1) and ER (#2). Very impressive!

clemente 03-10-01 04:33 PM

Probably boosted a bit by the fact that NBC was running re-runs all night, except for ER (just to cock block one of my new favorites Big Apple), but still impressive nonetheless. This Thursday night battle is quite a show.
