9-1-1: Nashville (ABC/Hulu) -- S: Chris O'Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes -- Premieres 10/9/25

The newest entry into the franchise, "911: Nashville," is a high-octane procedural about heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour set in one of America's most diverse and dynamic cities. The all-new series stars Chris O'Donnell as Captain Don Sharpe, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. "9-1-1: Nashville" is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers, with Chris O'Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also executive producing.

If you don't follow the 9-1-1 universe lately. A major character was killed off in the original show last season. And the 1st spin-off was cancelled by FOX. This spin-off was green-lit by ABC.

I like O'Donnell from NCIS LA, so I will watch this. But, I know most network shows nowadays in this forum get very sparse interest.

Fan of O'Donnell but I'll probably pass on this. I stopped watching the main show a couple seasons back and never tried Lone Star.

Now I need to look up who got killed off!

Ignoring roles where she did not play a character named "Leann Rimes," a look at IMDB tells me she has two acting credits in the past 14 years. And the most recent was 7 years ago.

I stand by my lol.

Fair enough. You're probably not alone not being sold on her as an actress. I don't know how big of a role she has on this series.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who is an actress by trade, is also on this, but I didn't have enough room in the title.

Anyway, the 2 main leads O'Donnell and Capshaw are good enough for me to check this out.

When it was new I watched the pilot of the first show, but it didn't really get me. I always wanted to give it a second chance, since I loved shows like Third Watch and Southland, but I have a really hard time with Ryan Murphy's shows.

This premieres tonight after the main show.

If you don't watch ABC, it will be on Hulu/Disney+ tomorrow.

The first episode was absolute comedy. Way over the top and also has some wacky interpersonal drama as well.

O’Donnell is marred to Jessica Capshaw and has a 25-ish son who works with him in the firehouse. And he also has a bastard child that he fathered with LeAnn Rimes, who is a former male stripper. They meet on a call and it turns out they are doing some scheming to get some revenge on him. Bastard child is 20-something as well and his name is “Blue” and he gets hired as a cadet. Blue does seem to want to connect with his Dad. Definitely a Ryan Murphy show.

And a fucking tornado hits downtown Nashville.

Two tornados have hit downtown Nashville in the past 25 years. One passed about 100 yards from where I work in 2020. That's probably the most accurate thing about the show. Tennessee is Tornado alley. Tennessee tends to get lots of tornados at night when you can't see them coming.
