Nice line from Deb about the lumberjack look.
Once again I find the stuff with Dexter the most interesting. I liked the awkwardness of the double date. Some funny stuff there. Quick temper boyfriends "my girl" line a big red flag. Surprised there wasn't a moment where Dexter picked up on something. I was expecting a little more with Levi Reed's kill. The usual "you're like me" speech. Gay cop was telegraphed a mile away in that earlier scene. Nifty cliffhanger though I'm guessing Dex will use his job for cover. Lots of severed fingers in this show.

The math ain't math'in. When Dexter starts in 2005 he's at 54 kills according to the show. Original Sin is 14 years before that. He's literally done 4 kills in the matter of a month or so. If he keeps up at that rate he'd have 728 kills before the OG show.
Now maybe them finding body parts in his dumping area will slow him way down. But his rate should be like 3 a year or so not 3 a month. Only 4 episodes left and hardly any movement on the big bad of the season stealing the kids.
I had originally thought Harry would die in the season finale which wakes Dexter up in the current time line. But with the pacing seems like that won't happen. Its a good enough show. But it's not the same without Michael C Hall in the role of Dexter.

Where does the number fifty-four come from at the start of the original series? Is that the number of slides he has? I don’t remember a number until New Blood. I know there are like thirty in season two when his dumping ground is discovered.

The Dexter wiki. It's based on how many slides and known kills from flashbacks and revelations through the show (like listing bodies they found in the Bay Harbour Butcher investigstion). Dexter has 149 total confirmed kills lifetime. Arthur Mitchell is estimated at 279.

Almost caught up. Watched episodes five and six tonight. The more this show goes on I do like it. It has the vibes of the original and Patrick Gibson is a good young Dexter.
Dexter’s dumping ground being discovered was something that was being hinted at plus the title of the next episode so no surprise.
How he didn’t get caught earlier is still beyond me. Curious when he starts his Bay Harbor Butcher style killings. I would guess it’s a ways off as I don’t see him getting his boat for a bit.
