I've been following this for a while. i love Kaitlin Olson from It's Always Sunny... It looks really funny and hope it sticks around longer than The Mick, which I also really liked. Plus, Hacks.

Looks pretty mid but will give it a shot for Olson who has delivered more lines that are permanently stuck in my head than any other actor.

Did anyone watch this? I thought it was pretty fucking good. I wasn’t expecting the drama, but this was the perfect blend. It was fun, breezy with some angst. I loved this first ep. It’s as if Dee got a brain. Really enjoyed it.

Olson was amazing in this. Showing emotion, but still acting like Dee. She’s perfect in this role and shows some range I never saw before.

I'm not sure who Dee is but wish they would bring The Mick back.

This was OK, but I really didn't care to follow the case of the week or try to understand what actually happened with it. So if it's more of that every week, I may lose interest. Will Trent is one that does it well, even if the case of the week isn't that interesting.

I haven't watched Elsbeth, but isn't that show the same concept? A weirdo who can notice things about crime scenes that no one else can?

Dee is her character's name in Sunny in Philly. I agree about The Mick. I thought it was funny and it sucked that it got cancelled.

Watch this. It’s still Olson as Dee or character in The Mick, only with a 160 iq. Try it on Hulu. Really surprised me.

We're in a "Columbo" phase right now, with a lot of old school episodic mysteries centered around a quirky crime-solver. It seems like it started with "Poker Face", at least that's when I first noticed it.

But this is an American version of a French show that ran three seasons. The original show debuted in 2021 and the US remake was given an order in 2022 before Poker Face was released.

It's been going on for much longer than that. Elementary, Castle, Mentalist, Elsbeth, Prodigal Sun. It's a Sherlock trope that's been a standard on TV.

I tried watching the original on Hulu, but it’s dubbed in English. I couldn’t figure out if it supports original French with English subtitles and/or how to switch. Was very disappointed with the D+ UI.

Yeah, that’s the only one I saw. At least with Netflix titles that are foreign first you have the option of multiple languages.

It is, but with something akin to a savant with ADHD rather than OCD.

Fun though, about what you'd expect from a Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and Drew Goddard show starring Olson.

I watched the first episode, Kaitlin is great as usual, but crime/mystery shows have never been my thing, so I'll probably not continue with this, even just for Olson's performance.

Watched it last night... it was good and I'm going to stick with it. High IQ Dee... :lol: I was bummed when The Mick got cancelled too.

Good enough first episode for me to stick with it for now. Olson and the guy from Rescue Me have decent chemistry so far. I'm basically the target audience for this type of show, though.

This is almost exactly Elsbeth, not a bad thing as that's pretty good.
There is a "based upon" at the end.

I liked it
like there is a cold case for her missing father of her kids.

The original show pops up as a you may also like after the credits
That was called HIP High Intelectual Potential.

Big Fan of Judy Reyes who I mostly know from Scrubs so I hope she gets more then her always begging Morgan to help them on cases.

Formulaic network procedural with a premise and cast designed for the female 35-54 demographic. Wasn't a Sunny fan so the lead actress doesn't hold any lure for me. I admit they handled her character as a mom rather well in the first episode.
