She has to split her time with her other family who aren't too far away in Chicago.

And she's still not a part of the opening credits with everyone in the kitchen.

I enjoyed this week's episode as well. I liked that they addressed censorship in school. But in what universe would Louise have chosen "Dancing Queen" to perform for those kids? And the Principal freaking out because "Queen" is in the title. That was really stupid.

I expected Darlene to rip into her kid more for not defending her. He was really a dick for letting his new friends get away with insulting her.

Another pretty good episode this week. It only took them six seasons...

Please give Lecy Goransen her own show! She is like a completely different character when she actually has something to do in the story and isn't reduced to just being someone to bounce punch lines off. She looks amazing for her age too. And mercifully, we have not seen her kid for a while...

Nice to see Crystal again. I wonder if she is the one who passes away?

I forgot she was in this episode. honestly I hated her character so wasn't really thrilled to see her again. That whole storyline of her marrying Dad's father was just weird. Her character was always annoying as hell whenever she was in an episode. Bring back Sandra Bernhard and Morgan Fairchild instead please.

She was on the previous episode. The one where "Dancing Queen" was banned from her school.

I did not know about anyone passing away. I hope it's not Crystal, who I like a lot. It would suck to bring her back after all these years just to kill her off.

Yes, Crystal was high maintenance and annoying at times. But she was a fairly big part of the original series. And I've been saying this forever, I would love them to bring Sandra Bernhard back. She was so good on this show. Same with Chuck and Anne-Marie. I'd rather see some of the original characters than most of the new ones.

WTF is going on with this show? The new season finally premiered on February 7th because of the writers/actor strike, and we've already had 3 reruns!? The last original show was 2 week ago.

Re: The Conners (ABC) - Season 6 Thread

Yeah, I noticed ABC was doing that with a lot of their shows, the Wednesday comedies, Will Trent, The Good Doctor. I'm guessing they either started airing new episodes before having enough episodes buffered up to run through without repeats or they just want to make the number of episodes they are producing for the season to be able to stretch out through the normal end of the season in May.

Even Fox has been doing the same thing with Animal Control.

Maybe the networks are taking a break because of March Madness and the holiday weekend?

The strikes also might have thrown them off schedule, and they aired whatever episodes they had in the can as soon as they could while were making more.

FYI, this changes timeslots to after Abbott Elementary for the rest of the season starting tomorrow.

This is insane. ABC moves their top rated comedy series AFTER "Abbott Elementary"!? Which consistently gets much lower ratings. If they decide to bring "The Conners" back, will they keep it in a time slot where it's destined to fail?

I agree, weird time slot change. Since I DVR it and watch it the next day it doesn't affect me but I hate to see it get shit on for no good reason. The show has been much stronger this season. I dont know if it was the time off during writers strike or just the fact that the writers have an endgame in mind they are writing toward and no longer need to churn out filler every week but I actually look forward to seeing this now. Harris much less annoying. Louise and Jackie repartee is fun. It's still all about Darlene but at least it doesn't dominate every episode. And no sign of Becky's cringey kid.

How many more episodes will there be this season? Did they do a full 13? I'm assuming that most of these shows that started late will still finish by end of May.

I'm beginning to think this won't be the last season. It doesn't look like its "wrapping" up so far...

Would imagine they could probably get more episodes but Goodman/Metcalf salaries are pretty huge and are in demand enough to where they probably don't have to budge on taking a paycut. That said the show is now on Netflix,if it does good numbers for them I wouldn't be surprised if it helps the shows numbers nudge up a little and ABC eventually ups the Final Season to an 8-10 episode order

Re: The Conners (ABC) - Season 6 Thread

You're probably right about Goodman and Metcalf but honestly I'd be fine if they got wrote off or just made a special appearance a few times like Estelle Parsons. Jackie has been more annoying than funny and Lauie Metcalf is wasted as an actor doing this character. John Goodman seems bored.

With only 9 episodes left to wrap things up I hope the writers stick the landing. No wedding for Becky either! Just have her graduate and get a six figure job somewhere. Same with Mark altho it seems like he has only been away at college for a year. I hope they show him graduating and becoming a success.

Not sure where they are going with Ben and Darlene but frankly dont care. She deserves to be a miserable lunch lady the rest of her life and Ben can enjoy a sexless marriage with her.

Just give these character a happy ending for Chrissake!

This week's episode (5/8) was the best "Conners" I've ever seen. Everything was on point. It made me laugh and it had so much heart. And I agree with bluesix, this is it's strongest season. Shame on ABC for not allowing it to go out on a high in it's original time slot.
