I would want to go on Survivor a little doughy anyways. You're going to be skin and bones by the end of it.

Will they finally put up a Behind the Scenes companion series on Paramount +? I've always felt there was content to mine there.

Hurley should have a distinct advantage here.

Outside of heavyset black guy Sifu none of them look out of shape compared to the average person.........but on the other end there's probably onlyl 2-3 people based on their photo that look like they could get a call for The Challenge Usa 3

Interesting, 90 minute episodes. I have not watched Survivor the past couple of seasons (kind-of burned out on the show, not because I actively do not like Survivor) but I may give the first 2-4 episodes a try to get a feel for how things might work out this season.

My first impression: this is the most pathetic group of contestants in the history of the show.

I absolutely can’t stand Emily. Not only were there people on her tribe that disliked her, there were other groups already talking about her negativity. Brandon also needs to go

What was the point of Brandon and Hannah coming on the show. Brandon was ready to go and Hannah quit. Lulu is done for.

I forget to record the premier episode last night, sounds like I did not miss much. I guess I can view the episode on Paramount+ if I want to get on board with watching this season.

If Brandon is faking this ineptness and is going to turn on his skills slowly... it's pure genius.

But I doubt that that is the case.

... and Emily needs to go - NOW!

Don't think he's faking, but if he can (miraculously) make it through about 10 days, I have a feeling his life will change forever, even if he gets voted off at that point. But it's going to take some time in island isolation from him to detox and change his outlook.

As for Emily...yeah, she needs to go, NOW.

I don't blame Hannah or Brandon one iota, millions of people probably think they would be good enough to play Survive but would be just as bad. Not everyone is entirely aware of their physical limitations. Really this is entirely the fault of casting and production to pick a dude who isn't fit enough to climb a ladder, and to put a woman on the island dealing with nicotine withdrawal. It's irresponsible and bordering on criminal explotation if that dude Brandon gets a concussion or some other serious medical injury out there.

Emily looks like Pam from The Office’s plain sister.

Is Brandon the worst player in the history of Survivor? I mean, any of us could go on and never look THAT bad.

Hate to say this as well because I am probably no better, but that is exactly what I thought as well watching this episode. It's like the casting folks went out of their way to do that its so blatant.

As soon as he made the teams on the ship, I said "that yellow/orange team is going to get destroyed in the challenges". They better shake things up early or the first 4 episodes are going to be pretty dull.

GatorDeb 10-02-23 02:40 PM

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23

Then you have the winner from last season that a bit on the heavy side but killed the social game and when it came to challenges did well enough so that his team could catch them up and win. And didn't he win the breathing under water challenge? It IS possible to be heavy and unfit and win. But that guy from this season ain't it.

Rob V 10-02-23 03:15 PM

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23

The casting crew did it... they found the 18 most unlikeable and whiney people on the face of the planet. How does Jeff not call out that therapist for outright quitting? Shows how woke this show has truly become. He would have ripped previous contestants a new ass for wasting a golden opportunity.
randon? I don't even know where to begin. I get that not everyone is the most physically gifted... but you can't pull yourself up a ladder on day 1?

And don't get me started on the amount of crying we DID see. I cannot believe how soft these people are.
