Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
I just finished the first episode and the yellow team is in major trouble. Emily is the most miserable person to ever be cast on the show along with the two people that want to quit. I'm worried Brandon might have a heart attack and die out there. I'd rather be sitting on my couch smoking a cigarette and watching Survivor instead of playing is one of the worst things I've ever heard on the show. I don't know how you can't fire the casting department after that.

Does it bug anyone else when all the pieces of a completed puzzle aren't flush? I think it should be a rule that a completed puzzle like that needs all the pieces to be basically flush in order to be complete.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
Yeah, it kind of sets off my OCD, but they are in race against the other team(s)/players to complete the puzzle, so I can understand why they wouldn't make them even out all of the pieces.

One of the benefits of the 90-minute episode is the return of the "Survivor" theme and title sequence. I've really missed it.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
I was thinking Brandon and Emily lucked out when Hannah quit, but not for long.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
These 90 minute episodes are a bit of a slog to get through. I’ll be glad when they go back to 60 minutes.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
Could Brandon possibly be the most useless mouthbreather to ever be on the show and make it to the third episode?
And seriously, close your mouth kid. He's probably gaining weight from all the bugs he is sucking in each day. |

Of course, with more time, people are going to wonder if that means the opening title sequence, which you all cut out years ago, is coming back. So what can you say about that? The main title is back in episode 2. And will it be staying throughout the season? Yep. And not only is the main title back, but there's an Easter egg in every main title for the true super fan. The main title in and of itself was enough to bring back. It's very fun. But this is a new era of Survivor, so we thought, "Let's make it fun for the audience as well by giving them a little something special in each main title." And that's all I'll say. You don't need to find the Easter egg to enjoy the episode, but if you find the Easter egg, it might give you a little more insight into the episode. |

Next season will be 90 minute episodes again, though the first two episodes will be 2 hours each. TAR will also have 90 minute episodes.

Wow, what a move, but taking out Kellie was absolutely the right thing to do.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
Tonight's episode was a real slog. Pretty much nothing happened the first half hour, just padding and player backstories. Only one challenge in 90 minutes. I guess the less people there are to check in on, the more they have to pad these long episodes.

Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
wow...no comments on the finale yet? It was pretty boring and predictable but the past four or five episodes before it have been pretty fun to watch.
Really hated to see Dee win over Austin who is clearly brilliant and deserved to win. Jake was just painful to watch. It's like the guy had a rain cloud following him over his head. Every advantage or break he got he managed to fumble. And he was just an annoying person at least to me. When he broke the challenge equipment I thought Probst was gonna kick him off the show. I really dont think Probst was fond of him despite his fawning comments on his podcast. Julie and Katurah both were just boring players. Neither did anything major strategy wise and didn't deserve to win. So another undeserving person wins Survivor! At least they reduced the follow up show to 30 minutes. The jury asked horrible questions which didn't help determine who should win at all. I dont know why they bothered. And annoying jerk off Bruce was brought back in as part of the jury but never got to ask a question. I dont think he said a word the whole show. He actually looked like he did not want to be there so that's probably why. |
Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
Well the season started with the most pathetic cast members we have seen, mixed into an underwhelming batch of fillers. There were maybe two or three decent contestants and the season was basically a whimper. Hopefully they do some self scouting on how they are casting the show because what they have been doing the past few years is not working.
i did like Austin, but he made some dumb mistakes based on following Dee around like I puppy dog. ‘Twas beauty killed the beast. |
Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
Sia has awarded Katurah $100K, Jake $15K, and Kaleb $15K.

Jake and Kaleb… I’m sorry, one was a wet noodle and the other got a lucky draw. Oh well. Congrats to Dee. I hope her parents appreciate her. |
Re: Survivor 45 (CBS) Premieres 9/27/23
I know this season wasn't too popular here, but I genuinely think Dee is easily the best player of the new era and legit Tony Vlachos/Kim Spradlin level of being a social/strategic threat and a strong challenge competitor . People like Emily and Kellie and her own allies throughout the merge said they know they can't let her get to the end but she insulated herself perfectly.

Sounds like it recently came out that previous winner Wendell has been cheating on his girlfriend, and mother of his children, with Dee.
