Interesting. Love that is is soon. Solar Opposites knocked it out of the park with Roiland's replacement, so, hopefully they do too.

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

Do we think whomever is doing the voices now is able to copy what Rolland did before (like when Family Guy swapped Cleveland's voice actor) or will it be something new? I'm assuming the former since the character voices have become pretty iconic for the show. The idea that we still don't know who's doing it is peculiar though. Are they hoping the voices are so close that most audience doesn't realize the actor changed?

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

That appears to be what they are aiming for... Executive producer Steve Levy back in July said:

We are closing in on the end of our process of the recast. It's gonna be great. I am thoroughly impressed with everything that's going on, including all the work on season 7. Truly, that’s the thing I don’t want to be overshadowed. The show is as good as it’s ever been. It’s sound-alikes. The characters are the same characters. No change.

If it is the guy on Instagram and Tik Tok who does the voices, they sound damn near identical.

I'm ready for new stuff, this is one of the most rewatchable shows to come out in a long time. This and Lower Decks.

I've heard Johnny Cash -> Tupac songs on Tik Tok. I think they figured out how to tweak voices.

The only thing I'm worried about is the little idiosyncrasies that Roiland added, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Is there a place to watch uncensored new episodes, or do you have to wait for the full season to stream?

Part of the on going strikes has to do with those tweaks, curious how it'll ultimately turn out. But yeah, it is impressive.

Saw the new trailer today. Overall not bad, but the voices definitely sounded "off" in some spots.

Here's the S7 Trailer

Ace of Spades This season looks to be off the rails.

Rick did sound off a couple times but close enough. I'll take it over no more R/M.

Can't wait for the season to start.

Voices sounded pretty close. Although we barely heard any Morty so who knows.

Sounds good to me. If I didn’t know Roiland was out, I never would have guessed it was a different voice actor.

They both sound off to me, more than they sound on. I mean, it's not terrible, but they're just not quite right most of the time. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, maybe, but it was kind of distracting throughout that trailer.

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

Not a bad throwaway first episode to get back into it, but Mr. PB is probably my least favorite recurring character. Hugh Jackman was great Rick sounded the most Rick, but Morty was off. Guess it's just something we have to get used to.

Rick seems way too subdued.

Hugh Jackman and Predator were great. Everything else was meh.

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

So I used to buy a season at a time on Amazon Video. I just bought Season 7 for $25, and only one featurette shows up.

Google says that Hulu + Live TV is a way to watch it. Is that it? But I have the Disney bundle and can't upgrade to + Live.

It says to use "Sling TV", but it won't load on my Vizio TV.

Other than looking for a pirate site, I can't think of how to watch this right now.

Also: Episode List

1 "How Poopy Got His Poop Back"
2 "The Jerrick Trap"
3 "Air Force Wong"
4 "That's Amorte"
5 "Unmorticken"
6 "Rickfending Your Mort"
7 "Wet Kuat Amortican Summer"
8 "Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie"
9 "Mort: Ragnarick"
10 "Fear No Mort"

You can upgrade on the Hulu website under your account. Adult Swim has its own app, it is even simulcasted via the app. Vudu and iTunes also sell the full season.

If you wait it out and have Max, it’ll be there too.

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

Okay Amazon fixed it. And I'm not crazy. There were threads on Reddit. Is this proof that Rick and Morty's fanbase is dedicated? I bet those season subscriptions sell like crazy. There is zero chance of me waiting to watch. I can't think of any other show that I'm twisted into paying for (now that Always Sunny is on Hulu next-day).

Re: Rick and Morty Season 7 (10/15/23)

Kind of a soft start, but still fun. I guess I kept expecting it to take a hard turn off the drunken bender storyline into something else but they just kept pushing through on that one. The voices were pretty good and if I didn't know they had changed VOs, I might not have cared.
