Lioness (Paramount+) - C: Sheridan, S: Saldaña, Kidman - premieres 7/23/23
SPECIAL OPS: LIONESS, inspired by an actual US Military program, follows the life of Joe (Zoe Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA's spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Michael Kelly), enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA's efforts to thwart the next 9/11.
The series stars Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveria, Michael Kelly with Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman.
Stream the two-episode premiere of Special Ops: Lioness on Sunday, July 23, exclusively on Paramount+. Then stream all-new episodes on Sundays.
Special Ops: Lioness will release globally on Paramount+ July 23.

Looking forward to it. At least it's a Sheridan project that doesn't involve cowboys and ranches.
Also, good to see Freeman back in a decent project after all these DTV projects he's done in recent years.

The first two episodes of this are out.
I watched the first and liked it well enough, though some of it seemed like a recruitment video for the Marines.

I wonder why every action series involving a female lead has to be her trying to balance her personal and professional life.

I thought this was pretty enjoyable. Episodes were the perfect length and I think Sheridan did a good job writing the main characters. I'm usually dismissive of the domestic scenes but the stuff with the husband added a lot of depth to the story.

Has the entire season been released or it is one episode per week?

Just finished watching both episodes. Another winner from Taylor Sheridan. These two episodes were also directed by John Hillcoat, so there's some pedigree there.
Laysla De Oliveira is fucking badass and smoking' hot. She's also probably going to get an Emmy, and that's off of the first episode, let alone the second one.
There are thematic elements that remind me of Sicario -- mainly that this team is probably where the Josh Brolin character graduated from.

I watched both episodes last night. Pretty good with an edge to it. Laysla de Oliveira is pretty badass. That opening sequence was pretty awesome.
Lots of Sheridan Alumni in the show. LaMonica Garrett from 1883, Dave Annable from Yellowstone and that leader of that unit Cody who helped torture Cruz was in Mayor of Kingstown. Two cups was also in multiple Sheridan shows. I barely recognized Jill Wagner. Remember she used to work on Wipeout years ago as the sideline reporter. They gave her an edge. A shit load of EPS in the credits including Saldana, Kidman and Wagner.
I looked at IMDb and of course lots of man babies with small penises threatened by badass women on TV.
Kind of funny seeing Michael Kelly again shortly after Jack Ryan ended in another military show.

Episode 3 is up and it was tight. That EMP scene on the highway was great and we got to see our girl in a bathing suit. Goddamn, she's a stunner.

So far, so good. This undercover mission with Cruz has been pretty engaging so far. Would a Latina woman like Cruz really pass for Middle Eastern?
The little side mission was pretty cool. The car sequence was pretty unexpected. So far, no Morgan Freeman yet. Guess he's just a recurring guest star since he's a suit in DC.

That assault on the compound by the insurgents in Ep1 was awesome. This is pretty decent. Funny to see lots of the Sheridan regulars showing up here.

Yeah I see that now.
Oddly not tagged as such on the description like most shows and movies are.
it does show 4K on info while the show is on.

I'm thinking there has to be something to mention of her 'tattoo'.. either it was code for something because she's in all these skimpy bikinis and dresses for someone not to notice much earlier than the events from the first episode. What a scene between the dad and daughter.
