Physical 100 on Netflix.

Korean show in which a bunch of people compete in physical tasks. The intro said they were fighting to the death. The first 25 minutes it's the competitors admiring each other's bodies. Maybe I'll get to a task soon. I'm hooked, though, can't look away.

I started watching on a whim and am hooked as well. Not typically my type of show but it has those original Ninja Warrior vibes and I'm enjoying how Korean culture makes this so different from a US production. Instead of a bunch of roided out gym bros getting in each others' faces everyone compliments one another and then politely invites them to get their asses kicked. Still a lot of roids though.

This kind of reminds me of Steve Austins Broken Skull Ranch

I finish watching all episodes and enjoyed it. Some grueling task like
Spoiler:
team trying pulling a 1.5 ton boat

Hope there a second season.

It's .... weird

Spoiler:

WAY too much time building up to each challenge. And they brought out the winner but weren't there two winners of the hanging task? The whole choosing instant death partner was confusing.

I'll watch it but in the background, tuning in for the actual tasks. It's hilarious that the intro was I'm here to fight to the death! And first task that water looks too far down, could I actually die?

Before first task: I will do my best.

Before second task: I'm the best bitches.

No. Hanging task had one winner (longest overall time), splitting it into two groups was logistical.

I thought about that but they didn't make it clear. In the second group the last guy just let go when the one before him let go, NO mention at all of oh, have I passed the other "winner's" time or not.

They don't really explain much on the show, and I don't think anyone knew how the other group did.

If no one knew how the other group did, how is that fair to the second group? The last of his group drops but he could hang out longer to beat the other group's #1 or not.

The goal was to just hang as long as possible, it being in a vacuum doesn't make it less fair. IMO at least.

Plus the perk they won was kind of lame.

We've watched 4 or 5 episodes... they're simply too long and the words are ridiculous. My wife loves it though. I dig almost any competition show --- but not this one. The replays are almost nonsensical --- they'll show a guy pickup a heavy bag of sand 3-4 times while grunting --- that's your replay?

I'm 3 episodes in. I'll keep watching, but I don't get the "greatest thing ever" hype. Yeah, I'm getting annoyed by the editing style of a second of action being immediately replayed 2 to 3 times for emphasis.

I really hope there aren't any more one-on-one fights between men and women. I don't like watching that at all, no matter how positively the editing tries to spin it. I appreciate that most men selecting their opponents picked other men. And maybe it's not surprising that the ones who picked women acted like jackasses during the match. Although:
Spoiler:
I wish I could see the whole match of the guy who picked the small cheerleader for the mudpit arena, openly mocked her ... and then was the only man to lose to a woman, when it looks like he got careless, let her get the ball, and she just ran out the clock running away from him.

Anyone else do the conversion of the prize? 300,000,000 won is about $250,000.

I'm sure one thing we're missing that the Korean audience would get is the participant recognition. It sounds like many are pretty well known there, but I never heard of any of them. That's one thing an American version of the show could bring (you have to think someone is thinking about how to remake this).

I gave up on it. 30 minutes of talking about it for every minute of action.

Decent show. But waaaaaay too damn long episodes in typical South Korean fashion. The final one was excruciating and I didn't get through it without fast forwarding.
