I guess that shows my level of interest in how it was done. I think I tuned out mentally after the world within worlds thing. I never liked the show nearly as much as Clone Wars.

Great episode - nice to see some “Star Wars” in a Star Wars series. I did think the recap was a bit short - I almost thought I started the wrong episode :lol:

Is Carl Weathers High Magistrate of Galaxy's Edge? Because it sure looked like that. I was waiting for him to take Din for a Ronto wrap and then maybe build a light saber together.

Didn’t expect IG-11 to be brought back. Definitely like that aspect. The opening was cool. Almost thought it was a flashback to Din’s initiation to the Mandalorian clan at first too. The show is just a lot of fun and I’m glad it’s back. Can’t wait for more!

I still hold out hope that Carano will be back for season 4. But the inmates run the asylum at Lucasfilm and I frankly don't have any hope for Star Wars going forward. Mandalorian is the Ewoks cartoon from the 80's... fun Saturday morning entertainment, not much else.

I liked the Cara Dune character but I think she ran her course in this series anyway. Clearly there were plans for her in the Rangers series but for this series with the impending Mandalorian civil war type situation coming, I don’t think she was needed.

Yeah, she was just sort of a background character that didn't have much to do.

They could easily make Rangers of the New Republic with Hera Syndulla in her place, or just create a new character.

I really don't GC was a strong enough actor to carry a show, anyway.

We thought the same up until his ship came down. What was the point of that scene? Learning he had to go bathe in some funky water to redeem himself was already known from last season. And why the hell did all those people stay on the beach to try to fight the Lake Placid gator rather than just running away? How did they not know something like that was in there in the first place?

You actually hope Carano will be back? I genuinely have never cared about what she does off-screen and still don't, but her poor acting was the weak point of this show and it is better without her. She was glaringly worse than all the actors around her by a pretty significant margin.

I enjoyed this first episode quite a bit, but I confess I'm fighting against some "Grogu does cute thing" fatigue.

I was underwhelmed by this episode, and after Andor, it felt a bit childish. How much time passed between S2 and S3? Navarro was sure different. I appreciated the update on Cara Dune, and Grogu was as cute as ever, but...

With Greef Karga being the High Magistrate, it didn't seem reasonable for him to waste so much time helping Mando resurrect a dead droid or to get down on his hands and knees in public. I mean, the guy had 2 droids carrying his robe and repeatedly reminded everyone about the "high" part of his new title, so to see him down on the ground didn't seem right. And Mando trying so hard to resurrect IG-11 also seemed unreasonable. Was this Favreau's plan all along for the character or did he regret killing him off?

The scene where Mando spoke with the Armorer felt like a rehash of their conversation in The Book of Boba Fett. I think it was there for the benefit of anyone who skipped that show, but to me it felt like wasted time. So Mando flies to a planet with a Mandalorian castle and just happens to find Bo Katan lounging on the throne? What are the odds (unless she never moves from that spot)? The pirate king looked like a cheap Halloween costume, and that one pirate arguing with Greef because he couldn't get a drink where the school now stood was a flimsy excuse for them to fight.

I'm looking forward to next week's episode but with much lowered expectations.

I was underwhelmed as well. Greef on his knees stood out to me as ridiculous... Bo Katan sitting and sulking all day was stupid too. I cannot get over the "rule" of Din not being able to take off his helmet. Like ever? He can't comb his hair or trim his beard? I know that's trivial but the show is the one making it the entire plot point.
Andor was very adult and calculated. This still feels like it's trying t appeal to all ages and I get that but I do wish they'd leave the cute stuff with Grogu and give us mature adults with people like Greef.

Ok, one more nit-pick. Why does Din need IG-11 to help him navigate? He can't find ANY other droid to assist him? So you go on a cross-galaxy adventure to find a part to put back together a droid that wants to kill you and blew up and melted in lava. Fan pandering at its best.

I believe that was actually in the Mando episode of the "Book of Boba Fett." I assume the meet and repeat of that goal with the Armorer was for the benefit of folks who didn't watch that series.

He can, but not in the presence of anyone else. He takes his helmet off when he's alone in episode 4 of season 1 ("The Sanctuary"). I agree though that the exact nature of the creed is a little unclear in the show, which isn't great for such a pivotal plot point.

I liked that the droid mechanics looked like practical effects out of Return of the Jedi or something. But then you have the pirates that look like generic sci fi dudes.
