Superman & Lois (CW) -- Season 3 -- Premieres 3/14/23
Season three of SUPERMAN & LOIS opens weeks after Superman's blowout defeat of Ally Allston. Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents' romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating "the secret" can be, as Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois. However, Lois' own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough. Meanwhile, the Kent boys find themselves being pulled in opposite directions as Jordan (Alex Garfin) discovers what a superhero-identity really means and Jonathan (Michael Bishop) searches for purpose beyond the football field. Amid all this upheaval, John Henry (Wolé Parks) is haunted by his doppelgänger's past, leading to dangerous consequences for him and Natalie (Tayler Buck). Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Kyle (Erik Valdez) redefine their family post-separation, while Sarah (Inde Navarrette) explores what the future holds for her and Jordan now that she knows the truth about his powers. Having learned the hard way that no one else can be trusted to work with Superman, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) reclaims his post at the Department of Defense, only to face his own conflict in working with his grandson, Jordan.
Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERMAN & LOIS is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter, Brent Fletcher, and Geoff Johns.

The CW released the 1st promo. It's only 30 seconds, but you see the new Jonathan Kent. This is still 2 months away. This is the IMO the best DC show left on network TV.

New Jonathan is only seen briefly, but he seems to fit in well.

Since the CW is ending has this been preemptively canceled already? Will HBO Max air it since they basically ended their content deal with the CW?

They’re just going to produce and order less shows.

It's been speculated HBO Max would pick this up even if the CW cancels it. It's going to be years before we get another Superman movie and Warner wants the character out there in the mean time.

Michael Cudlitz from Southland and The Walking Dead was cast as Lex Luthor.

Yeah, I though Cryer actually did a fairly decent job with the role. He had an air of smarmy arrogance borrowed from Hackman's Lex which works. Better than Spacey in the role.

Cryer shot to the top for me after the courthouse scene

For those here who still watch this, DC says they will keep it for 1 to 2 more seasons. That’s good news. Whether it stays on The CW or moves to HBO Max is unknown.

Decent season opener. Reset all the relationships, and introduced the possible big bad for the season. New Jonathan didn't have much to do. Jordan is still deep in the friendzone with Sarah. Their scenes together are always--as they admitted themselves--"super awkward." Big bait-and-switch with the Lois subplot. Weird warning from that city council guy to Lana about the funds.
I watched this as a DVR recording of my local CW station's over-the-air broadcast and I think they messed something up near the beginning of the episode. When Jordan and Sarah were talking in the diner, it interrupted them mid-sentence for a long commercial break, then it returned to what seemed like the middle of the conversation between Clark and Lois in their house. Then that scene ended like 20 seconds later and another commercial break started and it was the exact same commercials they had just shown. Will have to see if I can view it online to see what I missed.

Good ep
Looks like they put a decent amount of dough into it.
Was that lackey bad guy Joe Rogan?
Tom Cavanaugh directed this.

Pretty good start. Impressive that this was directed by Tom Cavanaugh. Some big scale sequences including the one in Malaysia and the big fight sequence. That fight sequence reminded me of Man of Steel, although much less destruction.
I hope they don't drag out whatever this potential Lois health issue is.
